343 Industries is currently hard at work wrapping up production onHalo Infinite, getting the highly anticipated first-person shooter prepared for launch this holiday season. But 343 isn’t a one-game studio andHalo Infiniteisn’t the end of 343’s plans for the franchise, and if a long history of diverseHaloreleases isn’t enough evidence of that, a new job listing should make it clear. 343 is itself confirming that it has moreHaloin the works in the future.
The job listing is for a Senior Producer to work from 343’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington. The producer would work in engineering for the Core Services division of the company. While 343 doesn’t say specifically what the project they’ll be working on is, they are willing to say that it’s a brand new game in theHalouniverse.

The job listing keeps the nature of thenewHaloprojectvague, as a new game in theHalouniverse is as specific as the listing gets. Beyond that, all it says is that it’s “one of the most exciting and creative intellectual properties in the industry,” and that they’ll work on “one of the industry’s most talented teams.” In other words, the project itself could be anything.
343 Industries works on a variety of differentHalogames, spread across a diverse range of genres. TheHalo Warsgamesare real-time strategy games,Halo: Spartan Assaultis a twin-stick shooter, andHalo: Fireteam Ravenis an arcade-exclusive game. There are also board games, miniature games, AR games, as well as ARGs leading up to their other game releases. Without more information, it could be a sequel to any of these titles or even a new series entirely.
The game could also be a direct follow-up toHalo Infinite, too. WhileHalo Infiniteis likely to have some games-as-a-service elements that keep it relevant for a very long time, 343 would be silly not to begin working on a fully-fledged sequel straight away. It’s whatBungiedid for years and it’s what 343’s continued since.
It’ll have been five years sinceHalo 5launched whenHalo Infiniteeventually releases for PC, Xbox One, andXbox Series X. That’s a long time betweenHalogames and excitement for the franchise has certainly faded to a degree. 343 and Xbox will want to capitalize on the excitement created byHalo Infinite, hopefully leading to a series ofHalogame releases year to year for the foreseeable future. It’s no surprise that moreHalogames are being worked on, absolutely, but it’s still reassuring to see occur.
