Elvis may have starred in countless moviesand inspired countless musicians, but he reportedly always wanted to be a secret agent. That’s something series co-creator Priscilla Presley acknowledged and is what served as inspiration for the series. It seems the King may yet achieve his dream.

Elvis will also be portrayed on the big screen again: directorSofia Coppola is making a Priscilla Presley biopic, with Jacob Elordi as Elvis. Though it’s been decades since Elvis passed away, his legacy lives on. His iconography is instantly recognizable, as is his distinctive style of speech, his fashion, and his characteristic swagger. The man was an icon in life and continues to be so even now. The concept of putting Elvis into a new role is interesting because he’s so well known. His foibles make him an interesting person to follow in different circumstances.

Perhaps it’s also fitting that Elvis himself continues to inspire other ventures. After rising from humble beginnings, he continues to make his theatrical presence known. For his role inElvis,Austin Butler has become an in-demand namein the industry and is now in the running for several high-profile roles. While the plot ofAgent Elvisisn’t fully known just yet, it’s clear that the series will be another addition to Elvis' legacy.
