Spider-Man: No Way Homewas filled with many surprises and exciting moments, but perhaps one of the biggest was seeing Andrew Garfield return to deliver an emotionally impactful performance as the alternate version of the web slinger. Now fans are begging for his return in another solo outing, even though Garfield still hasn’t gotten the call to return.
Following Tobey Maguire’s portrayal of the iconic book character in Sam Raimi’sSpider-Mantrilogy, Garfield had big shoes to fill. While hisAmazing Spider-Manfilmswere met with mixed reviews, Garfield’s performance was one of the positive takeaways.

That would prove to be true once more inSpider-Man: No Way Home, as Garfield stole the show with his charismatic yet emotional performance that had fans instantly craving anAmazing Spider-Man 3film. Speaking with Josh Horowitz on theHappy Sad Confusedpodcast, Garfield was asked if Sony or Marvel had contacted him on returning for anotherSpider-Manfilm. Garfield responded with his hands up in the air, saying, “Look, man, I ain’t got a call.” Garfield would go on to reiterate that he in fact did not get a call.
Now with proof of the incredible things that can happen when an actor is surrounded with the right talent and excellent writing, there’s no doubt that Garfield’s solo outing, if and when that comes to fruition, would be an exciting one. But in the meantime, the focus has been onTom Holland’s Spider-Manand where his character is off to next following his MCUHomecomingtrilogy.No Way Homeseemed to lay the groundwork for Peter Parker to step away from the MCU, but Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and Sony executive Amy Pascal have both suggested another collaboration between both companies is in the works.
With Marvel Studios and Sony expanding their Spider-Man universe by crossing over characters from Sony like Tom Hardy’s Venom into the MCU or vice versa (on top of Michael Keaton’s Vulture appearing in trailers for theupcomingMorbiusfilm), there’s no telling what will happen and if Holland’s and Garfield’s Spideys will meet again. Either way, what is certain however is that there will be many moreSpider-Manfilms, and that’s always a plus.
Spider-Man: No Way Homehas found much criticaland box office success. It currently has a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes and has now entered the top 10 list of the highest-grossing domestic films of all time, garnering roughly $609.9 million while also racking up a total of $1.381B worldwide.
