From Software’sElden Ringadded a host of new features to the company’s standard Soulsborne formula, including mounted combat and an open-world setting. However, some of its most memorable additions come in the form of monsters that twist the forms of common real-life animals. Now, one artist is combining the Pokemon Ursaring and Corviknight with two similarElden Ringmonsters in a piece of fiendishly creative fan art.
Ursaring is a bear-like Pokemon introduced in theJohto region during the Gen 2Pokemongames, while Corviknight is a crow-like Pokemon introduced in the Galar region during the Gen 8 titles. Their typings are Normal and Flying/Steel, respectively, but potential variant forms could add more options in the future.

Twitter user bromojumbo previously combinedElden Ring’s giant bipedal dogs with the Pokemon Tyrantrum. Now, the artist has fused Ursaring with the Runebear optional field boss and Corviknight with the Giant Crow enemy found in Caelid and Mohgwyn Palace. These altered designs change Ursaring to Psychic-type and Corviknight to Flying/Dark-type. Perhaps more importantly, however, they completely overhaul the intimidating but cutePokemonaesthetic to better matchElden Ring’s regal and terrifying design sensibilities.
In the tweet, bromojumbo describes theElden Ring-style creatures as “Bears & Birds (from hell),” a statement that may ring true to viewers. TheElden Ringtake on Ursaring may not be overtly frightening, especially since the Runebear is one of the least horrifying enemy designs in the game. However, the artist’s redesign of Corviknight adds in many of the unsettling traits ofElden Ring’s giant crows, which make for truly uncanny foes. Ursaring features a more muscular build, grey-brown fur, and the glowing blue patterns of the Runebear’s fur. Meanwhile, Corviknight is given a massive toothed beak, white-on-black eyes, wild plumage, and more dinosaurian legs designed for running and grabbing at prey.
AlthoughElden Ring’s most famous enemies are its dogs, the Runebear and Giant Crows have gathered their own brand of notoriety. Several users replied to the post by stating that the Runebear Ursaring was Psychic-type because the Runebear had an uncanny ability to ambush players. Meanwhile, the Corviknight has its entire resting stance changed to better embody the T-Rex style build of the Giant Crow. The resulting design appears to have captured fan imagination, as several other users replied with suggestions for types of Pokemon andElden Ringmonsters bromojumbo could combine in the future.
Elden Ringis available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
