Assassin’s Creedis a series that has Templars and Assassins fight each other for artifacts from theFirst Civilization. The Assassins in the series are after the artifacts to keep the Templars from ruling the world. Aside from saving the world anddiving into haystacks from towers, the Assassins also have some memorable characters.

TheAssassin’s Creedseriesspans multiple settings and time periods, making each game’s Assassin(s) a little more unique. The games range as far back as Greece during the Peloponnesian War to modern day. Taking the time periods each game was set, here are all of the main Assassins in the game ranked.
15Desmond
Desmond is the descendant of all of the Assassins fromAssassin’s CreedtoAssassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.Desmond was kidnapped by Abstergo and the Templars, but is rescued by the Assassins. Despite being a descendant of the best Assassins in the world, Desmond’s skills do not get a lot of attention in the series.
If there was more combat and modern missions with Desmond, he might be higher ranked than this. The one good thing he did is sacrifice his life so the world would not end on August 01, 2025. For fans of Desmond and his bloodline, don’t worry as his bloodline is carried on bya sonhe unknowingly fathered.

14Lydia Frye
Lydia Frye is the granddaughter ofAssassin’s Creed: Syndicateprotagonist Jacob Frye. Lydia is playable in a special mission where she saves World War I London from German spies.
Despite the importance of her mission, she is only shown in one memory and is not mentioned again. She is asked by Winston Churchill to defeat a German spy ring, in return Churchill promises Lydia he will fight for women’s rights when he returns to parliament.

13Malik Al-Sayf
Malik is first seen while on a mission with Altair inAssassin’s Creed.Altair alerts enemies to the Assassins' presence, which causes Malik to get injured. The injury is severe enough, his arm must be amputated and leaves him with only a right arm.

Because of this amputation, Malik becomes the bureau leader of Jerusalem, giving Altair information about targets. Later in life, Malik becomes Altair’s right-hand man – rather fitting. His life comes to an end, however, when there is a coup and Abbas sends Malik’s decapitated head to Altair.
12Nikolai Orelov
Nikolai is a member of the Russian Brotherhood and is a playable character inAssassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia.Nikolai was in Russia during the Russian Revolution and fought against the Soviets.
Breaking from history, Nikolai saved Anastasia Romanov and helped her escape from Russia. Later in life, he gave up on the Brotherhood and left. A notable descendant of Nikolai Orelov’s is Daniel Cross, who is seen inAssassin’s Creed III.

11Layla Hassan
Layla Hassan is the new playable character in the modern storyline ofAssassin’s Creed.Layla was a former employee of Abstergo who goes on to work for the Assassin Brotherhood.
Layla relives the memories of Bayek and Aya inAssassin’s Creed: Originsand the memories of Kassandra inAssassin’s Creed: Odyssey.One of the coolest parts of the series is when Layla gets to meet Kassandra in person, with Kassandra’s life being extended because of the Staff of Hermes.

10Liam O’Brien
Liam O’Brien is former friend of Assassin-turned-Templar and playable character ofAssassin’s Creed: Rogue, Shay Cormac. Liam is the reason Shay Cormac joined the Assassin Brotherhood. During the beginning part ofAssassin’s Creed: Rogue, Shay and Liam can be seen always close together and having each other’s backs.

After Shay Cormac’s betrayal. Liam attacks the Templars to try to disrupt their plans in the colonies. Liam and Shay have one last showdown, with Shay ultimately killing his former best friend.
9Achilles
Achilles was the leader of the Assassin Brotherhood in the colonies before Shay Cormac leaked it. After the collapse of the Brotherhood, Achilles retired to his manor to forget his past life.
Achilles was brought back into the Assassin Brotherhood by Connor, the son of Templar Haytham Kenway. Connor searched for Achilles to hunt for the men who set his village on fire. Achilles helped Connor, which in turn brings the Assassin Brotherhood back to the colonies and then the United States. Before seeing this, though, Achilles passes away in his home.

8Frye Twins
Evie and Jacob Frye are both the protagonists ofAssassin’s Creed: Syndicate.The twins hunt Templars through 1860s London while meeting famous historical figures, such as a young Arthur Conan Doyle, Queen Victoria, and Karl Marx.
The twins are credited with saving Queen Victoria from an assassination, earning both of them knighthood. Both also rebuilt the Assassin Brotherhood in London, along with ending Jack the Ripper’s terror through London.

7Connor
Connor is the son of Templar Master Haytham Kenway and a Native American mother. Connor is trained under Achilles to become an Assassin and hunt down the Templars in the colonies. During his hunt, Connor becomes the captain of a ship, helps in the American Revolution, and takes part in historical events that shape the beginning of the United States.

Connor becomes an important asset to George Washington, helping him win important battles of the American Revolution. Connor is also responsible for the revival of the Assassin Brotherhood in the United States.
6Arno Dorian
Arno Dorian is the protagonist ofAssassin’s Creed: Unity.Arno Dorian is first played as a young boy, when his father is murdered inside the Palace of Versailles. It is revealed the murderer is Shay Cormac, but the murder causes Arno Dorian to be adopted by Grand Master of the French Templars, François de la Serre.
Arno hunts down Templars around Paris during the French Revolution, despite the numerous tragedies that befall his life. Arno later becomes a Master Assassin and tries to bridge the gap between Templars and Assassins, a promise he made do a dying Élise.
