Two of these characters in that grey area, Galdren and Astarion, come into conflict inBaldur’s Gate 3. Without a clear good or evil individual in the mis, players will have to make a difficult judgment call to either help Gandrel find the camp or to lie about Astarion’s whereabouts.

Should Players Give Gandrel Directions To Camp?

Astarion is indeed the vampire spawn that Gandrel claims he is. Worse, Astarion is a blatant racist against the Gur, the ethnic group that Gandrel belongs to. Astarion also disapproves of good and kind decisions (likehelping Alfira finish her song) while he relishes in wickedness, torture, and death. Gamers can be forgiven for wanting to get rid of their companion who consistently pushes for evil decisions.

However, there are some major reasons in favor of misleading Gandrel. The rest of the camp sees the betrayal and feels they could be next. Players can get rid Astarion personally on at least two occasions in a more justified way. Gandrel is just doing a job but he’s carrying it out for somebody who wants to enslave Astarion. Finally, Astarion may eventually find redemption; getting him captured or killed ends that character arc. If playerssaved the gamebefore giving directions to Gandrel, it may be wise to reload the save.
