Summary
It’s easy to make mistakes while playing a role-playing game. There are unique items that can be missed, quests that are hard to trigger, and options the player is never informed about.Granblue Fantasy: Relinkis no different. In fact, it is very easy to make mistakes early in the game that don’t become apparent until much later.
Beginner players should be aware of the following aspects of the game during their playthroughs. Some of these tips are designed to save the player time, others point out parts of the game that are easy to overlook. All the entries below, however, are designed to help players avoid disappointment and aggravation.

1Think Long-Term When Upgrading Sigils
Decide Early Which Sigils Are Worth Upgrading
It can be tempting to upgrade Sigils to get that extra boost in battle. Upgrading Sigils becomes an expensive affair later in the game. Keeping this in mind, it’s better toupgrade only the Sigilsthat are guaranteed to be used long-term. Otherwise, the player is just wasting resources.
The Sigils that make the best long-term investment are the ones that work on percentages, rather than set bonuses. A Sigil that grants +10 to Attack might be better than one that grants a 5% increase to Attack early in the game. However, as the latter Sigil is upgraded, the percentage increase will be better than the set stat bonus.

2Check Lyria’s Journal From Time To Time
A Source Of Free Loot
Lyria’s Journal is accessed through the Main Menu and is very easy to overlook. New players should get into the habit of checking this journal periodically. The reason is simple, there are rewards to be collectedas trophies are obtained over time. The trophies are gained by simple missions, like getting a character to a certain level.
There are a lot of trophies to collect, so it’s likely players unlock a few each time they play without even knowing. The resources and items obtained from Lyria’s Journal give new players a windfall of free loot. It’s important not to wait too long to check these, as there might not be room in the inventory for all the rewards.

3Don’t Use The Crewmate Cards Too Early
Save These Until Later To Save Time Grinding
InGranblue Fantasy: Relink, new playable charactersare unlocked by acquiring the Crewmate Card for them. These can be redeemed at Siero’s Knickknack Shack, at which time that character is unlocked. New players might be tempted to use the Crewmate Cards as soon as they’re obtained. This could be a big mistake.
When a new character is unlocked, they begin at whatever level the protagonist is at the moment. Unlocking a character too early might leave them at a level that becomes too low for the character to join the party (and contribute meaningfully) later in the game.

4Don’t Spend Too Much Time Grinding Early In The Game
Wait Until Later When Better Areas Become Available
It might seem natural to spend a lot of time grinding to make one’s character stronger. This is especially true mid-game, when enemies become stronger, and the characters might have trouble surviving. It might be wise to wait until committing hours to grinding.
The main reason to delay the grind of improving characters in the pool is that there are much better areas for grinding later in the game. Waiting until the better grinding areas become available will save the player potentially hours of play time for the same results.

5Don’t Forget About The Fate Episodes
Complete These Episodes For Rewards
When at the Quest Counter, new players might have noticed the Fate Episode listed in the menu but never bothered to explore this aspect of the game. Maybe they did and found it to be a waste of time. Fate Episodes are usually static images with the character narrating an event that gives the player insight into what drives them.
There are rewards for sitting through these stories - typically a small stat boost. There are other Fate Episodes that are actual quests. These episodesunlock a Sigilslot when completed.

6Sell Your Glitterstones
Glitterstones Are Meant To Be Sold
Glitterstones sound like they might be important. Are theya resource that becomes neededlater in the game? Do they unlock some great item or skill? The answer to both questions is - no. These items have no other use but to be sold.
Beginning players might find themselves hoarding Glitterstones in the hope they can be used for something later in the game. It’s understandable. However, these can be sold without worry or consequence. So, if a player finds they need rupies they should sell any Glitterstones in their inventory first.

7Fast Travel Can Be Used For Side Quests
Use The Fast-Travel Feature To Save Valuable Time
The simple side quests in RPGs can get more than a bit tedious. Most are a fetch-quest, or a variant of a fetch quest, that requires running around collecting the required items. This is a game mechanic meant to artificially lengthen a game and can force players to abandon the side quests because they just aren’t worth the invested time.
After completing a side quest, many players are unaware that by accessing the side quest in the game menu, they can fast-travel to the source of the quest and get rewarded much, much faster.

8Exit Critical Mode Faster
Tap The Buttons To Revive Faster
When players are on the verge of death they will enter what is known as Critical Mode. This isn’t easy to miss as the screen glows red around the edges and a critical bar appears. If the critical bar empties, the character dies. Under the bar is a portrait of the character with a border line that circles the portrait clockwise and acts as a gauge. If this gauge circles the portrait before the critical bar depletes, the character revives.
Here’s something a lot of new players might not know - the portrait gauge can be completed faster if the player mashes the buttons on the controller. This will save the player a few precious seconds at a critical moment.
