Having only optimal Specialists jobs on a planet is hugely beneficial to a colony’s progress, which can also be a huge boost for the empire’s survival in the harsh galaxy.

7Trader
The Lynchpin Of An Empire’s Economy
Although an empire’s civic or playstyle might not revolve around a heavy economic-based focus, having two or three Traders on each planet would not be a bad idea due to their talent at producing a huge amount of energy credit by themselves. A Trader is capable of producing both Trade Values and Amenities, making the planet’s pops happier while also helping the economy in the process, allowing the empire torush rare technologiesinstead.
A strong economy can quickly snowball into a successful campaign against other hostile neighbors in the galaxy. Alternatively, bolstering one’s economy will also allow an empire to rapidly invade weak neighbors across the empire’s border.

6Medical Worker
Rapidly Increase Pops To Ensure Productivity
Pops are one of the most important resources inStellarissince they are capable of producing resources for the empire to thrive while also allowing the empire to project power in the Galactic Community. Having more of them on a planet is always beneficial, and Medical Worker’s resource production can help the empire tooptimize the process.
In addition to increasing Pop growth speed, the job also increases a planet’s habitability and amenities, ensuring the local populace on the planet is happy and productive. Medical Worker jobs can be produced by building a Gene Clinic on a planet.

5Numistic Priest
Unique Job That Can Produce Wealth And Unity
Producing both wealth and unity is always a luxury to have for an empire since both will easily allow the empire to gain an advantage over the others in the galaxy. However, the Numistic Priest specialist job is more than capable of handling such a task, thanks to its unique resource generation when worked.
By having both Unity and Trade Values generation, having multiple Numistic Priest on a planet can ensure steady progress throughthe Tradition Tree. The unique Numa-worshipping job is only available after building a Numistic Shrine, randomly given from a Caravan’s fleet deal.

4Telepath
A Necessary Job For Psionic Empires In The Galaxy
Going through the Psionic Ascension Path can be uniquely powerful due to the flexible bonuses it gives after contacting the Shroud andmaking a deal with a Covenant. These bonuses can be amplified further once the empire can produce a Telepath specialist job, which is one of the most powerful specialist jobs.
A Telepath can single-handedly keep order on a planet due to its crime-reducing modifier, eliminating the need for an Enforcer. Moreover, it allows any Psionic pops on the planet to be more efficient, making the empire more productive in the process. A Telepath can be obtained by building the unique Psi Corps, available only for Psionic Empires.

3Astral Researcher
Unique Researcher Able To Harness The Astral Planes
Thanks to theAstral PlanesDLC, a new resource is available for the player to exploit in the form of Astral Threads. These Astral Threads allow an empire to use the extremely powerful Astral Actions, which include locking a system from outside access tousing two Relicsat once without waiting for the cooldown to expire.
Aside from producing Astral Threads passively, an Astral Researcher also produces a huge amount of Physics research in addition to Engineering and Society Research. This powerful job is available once a planet has built an Astral Siphon building.

2Duelist
Keeping The Pop Happy While Increasing Naval Capacity
Having a job that is able to contribute to both military and domestic affairs can be a rarity. However, it exists in the form of a Duelist, a unique job only available for empires with theWarrior Culture civic. The Duelist replaces the Entertainer which usually comes from Holo-Theatres, making it far more powerful than its generic counterpart.
If an Entertainer only produces Unity and Amenities, a Duelist takes it to the next level by also increasing Naval Capacity. This can be useful, especially in the early game when naval capacity is hard to obtain and quite precious, as a limited naval capacity usually means an early exit from the game.

1Catalytic Technician
A Powerful Alternative To The Metallurgist
Alloy production is always important for an empire inStellarisbecause it is used for fleet production. Limited alloy production can usually mean an empire’s destruction since they will not be able to keep up with the hostile environment of the galaxy. A Metallurgist can produce alloys from minerals, which is also important for buildings. However, a Catalytic Technician can easily work around that limitation.
Differing from a Metallurgist, Catalytic Technician converts food instead of minerals to alloys. This easily allows them to be the most powerful specialist job as it gives another purpose to food resources rather than just for pop consumption. With the right combination of traits and civics, an empire can easily become a force to be reckoned with, as it can produce thestrongest ship designsrapidly without any economic issues. The specialist job is only available if the empire has the Catalytic Processing civic.
