Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warwas officially revealed today, with players jumping intoCall of Duty: Warzoneto track down Frank Woods and unlock the game’s first true trailer. While the trailer mainly focused on theBlack Ops Cold Warcampaign, the final 15 seconds gave fans a brief clip of multiplayer gameplay and the official date for the full multiplayer reveal.
Set to take place on September 9, the reveal should elaborate more on the gameplay clip that was shown. Within the clip, two soldiers can be seen battling it out on alarge desert map inBlack Ops Cold War. It initially seems like a by-the-books showcase of aCall of Dutyshootout, but the map soon pans out to reveal players on vehicles approaching from a far more open area.

Whether this clip is showing off a new, large scale multiplayer mode orBlack Ops Cold War’stake on Warzone is unclear. TheFrank Woods operator packwas also confirmed at the end of the teaser, with players getting access to the character inModern Warfareif they pre-order a digital version of the game.
A killstreak comes into play at the end of theBlack Ops Cold Warreveal trailer, and a plane can be seen shooting across the sky before it drops a payload on someone in a jeep. Another person is shown on a minigun within this segment as well, hopping onto the turret using a similar animation to the chopper gunner fromBlack Ops 1.
This tiny bit of gameplay seemed more reminiscent of multiplayer modes from theBattlefieldseries than traditionalCODmultiplayer, so it will be interesting to see how the game’s online play looks on September 9. A beta was also confirmed for the game, as well asfree DLC forBlack Ops Cold War, which should be similar to howModern Warfarehandled its content rollouts, though that remains to be seen.
