Spec Ops Survival inModern Warfarewas exclusive to PS4 for an entire year, which was the source of quite a bit of controversy. Previously,Call of Dutyexclusivity deals only lasted for a month, and so some fans have complained that these year-long exclusivity deals are a little extreme. In fact, by the time this exclusivity deal runs out, the newCall of Dutygame will be well on the way, if it’s not out already. Furthermore, these exclusive modes mean that players on PC and Xbox are expected to pay the same price as those on PlayStation for less content, which is not consumer-friendly at all.
However, it should be noted that while Zombies Onslaught will apparently be PlayStation-exclusive, thecore Zombies modewill be available to all players. Not only that, but allBlack Ops Cold Warplayers will also have a full-fledged single-player campaign to go through as well as theclassicCall of Dutymultiplayerand access to new content inWarzone.
Plus, allCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarDLC will be free, with new content released seasonally, similarly to how it was handled withModern Warfare.Black Ops Cold Warwill have Battle Passesthat players can choose to buy to get extra content, plus some cosmetic bundles that will be sold in the in-game store. However, all Zombies DLC maps, multiplayer maps, and more will be added to the game with no additional purchase necessary.
Regardless, those on PS4 and PS5 are still getting more content than those on PC and Xbox, with PlayStation gamers able to check outCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies Onslaught on November 13. Those on PC and Xbox will have to wait until Jun 15, 2025 to try the mode.
