Call of Duty: Warzonefans have been on somewhat of a rollercoaster ride when it comes toCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warweapons being added to the battle royale. At first, Activision said that fans would have to wait untilCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarSeason 1 starts on December 10 to try the new guns inCall of Duty: Warzone, but then it added an in-game message toModern Warfarethat stated the weapons would go live on November 13 alongsideBlack Ops' release. However, Activision has since clarified the situation.

Activision has confirmed that the message sayingCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warweapons would be added toWarzoneon November 13 was made in error. Fans can expectCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warguns to be added toWarzoneon December 10 as previously planned. On the bright side,Call of Duty: Warzonefans can still expectBlack Ops Cold WarOperators to be added to the battle royale on November 13, so there will still be some new content to look forward to come Friday.

The addition ofCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warguns toWarzonehas been somewhat controversial in the community. On the one hand, it will give players plenty of new weapons to experiment with inCall of Duty:Warzone, with players able to switch between theirCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarandModern Warfareloadouts. On the other hand, there is some concern that this influx of new guns could throw the game’s balance completely out of whack. Needless to say, it’s likely that there will be plenty of balance updates forCall of Duty: Warzone’s newBlack Ops Cold Warguns post-launch.

Besides guns and playable Operators, there is moreCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warcontent planned forWarzonein the future. Starting December 10,Call of Duty: WarzoneandBlack Ops Cold Warwill be linked together,sharing a Battle Passand other new content. Not only that, but Treyarch has teased an even bigger addition to theCall of Duty: Warzonebattle royale.

TheCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold WarSeason 1 roadmap teases a “classified"Warzoneexperience that will be added to the game at some point during Season 1. Whether that comes on Season 1’s December 10 start date or if fans have to wait a little bit later in the season remains to be seen, but more information should become available next month. In any case, it’s been suggested that the tease is referencing theAlcatraz prison island, which will either be added as a separate map or as part of the existingCall of Duty: Warzonemap in Verdansk.

Then again, the tease could be something completely different and unexpected. All fans can do is speculate untilTreyarchprovides more information on the matter.
