God of Warfans are eagerly anticipating the launch ofGod of War Ragnaroklater this year, with the new game set to wrap up the Norse mythology storyline that started with the 2018God of WarPS4 game. While many enjoy the latestGod of Wargames, some fans have held out hope for a return to the franchise’s early days, asking for the originalGod of Warto be remade or remastered.
Sony has not announced any plans to develop aGod of Warremake, but now fans have an idea of what such a project could look like. YouTube channel TeaserPlay, which primarily makes concept videos for hypothetical video games, recently published a video showing what aGod of Warremake could look like if it were built using Unreal Engine 5. The video shows Kratos, equipped with theBlades of Chaos, exploring various Greek mythology settings and talking with Zeus.

Interestingly, the concept video re-imagines the originalGod of Warto be more in-line with the style presented by the2018God of Wargameand the upcomingGod of War Ragnarok. One of the most obvious ways this is accomplished is by using a camera angle that is very similar to the one seen in the newerGod of Wartitles, as opposed to the more pull-back view used in the originalGod of Wargames.
While aGod of Warremakeis not in development, the good news is that most of the series is readily accessible on PlayStation’s latest hardware, available to play on both PS4 and PS5.God of War 3 Remasteredis a native PS4 release, while a PlayStations Plus Premium subscription givesGod of Warfans access to the HD Versions ofGod of WarandGod of War 2, as well asGod of War: Ascension.
There are someGod of Wargames that are missing from the lineup, however, withGod of War: Chains of OlympusandGod of War: Ghost of Spartaboth unavailable at the time of this writing. It’s possible thatPS Plus Premiumwill eventually be expanded to include these games, especially since the service is expected to add more PSP titles down the line. Most fans would probably prefer to see the extensiveGod of War Sagacollection from the PS3 make the jump to newer hardware, though.
Sony’s plans for pastGod of Wargames are unclear, but as for the franchise’s future, we know exactly what’s in store. TheGod of War Ragnarokrelease dateis right around the corner, so the wait is nearly over to see what’s next for Kratos and Atreus.
God of Waris available on PS2.
