Fans of development studio Toys for Bob’s recent work may have something to look forward to as some job postings hint at a new project. Though vague, job postings indicate theActivision-owned company appears to be hiding something important.
Activision Blizzardis a well-known name in the gaming industry, with its development studios maintaining many popular franchises. Recently the studio has shifted most to all of its known development resources into one specific bestseller franchise,Call of Duty.

Toys for Bob is well known for itsSkylandersseries, theSpyroseries remakes, and the modernCrash Bandicootgames. When the studio transitioned into becoming adevelopment support studio forCall of Duty: Warzone, some fans assumed that the studio would not be working on other projects, as its resources were focused onWarzone. However, this may not be the case, as new job postings on the Toys for Bob career site indicate potential non-Call of Duty-related positions.
Most other jobs on the Toys for Bob career website specifically list themselves as beingCall of Duty-related, but a few stand out as notable exceptions. Several of the positions are in the art section, with applications open for an environment artist and a senior concept artist. These posts do not specify what game they are for, meaning theoretically a new project could be in the works. Such a project, as opposed to more general applications, is only speculation for now, but it has a basis to exist given that with so manystudios working onCall of DutyActivision may be looking to expand beyond the one franchise again.
Activision itself is currently wrapped up in troubling ongoing situations, with employeesleaving the company due to toxic work environmentsand other employees petitioning to remove Bobby Kotick as CEO. Even if Toys for Bob is working on something new and exciting, the high volume of accusations against prominent executives in the studio’s parent company will likely have a negative impact on the overall company image.
Even ifBobby Kotick decides to leave Activision, the other problematic executives he appointed might remain following his departure. Until the situation is dealt with in full, some fans of Toys for Bob may be hesitant to buy from a studio owned by Activision. Still, the speculated project seems to be in its early stages, so time will tell if the issues are resolved by the time more is known.
