After the success ofDeathloop, and the many accolades it received in 2021, fans became more aware of Jason Kelley who played the sharp-witted Colt Vahn. Because of his charisma in the role, he was nominated formultiple awards including a BAFTAand was part of one of the most stacked “Best Performance” categories at the 2021 Game Awards with the likes of Giancarlo Esposito, hisDeathloopco-star Ozioma Akaga, and 2021 winner Maggie Robertson who played Lady Dimitrescu inResident Evil Village. Off the heels of that role, he’s now teasing that he’s working on a new project.
Jason Kelley tweeted out a photo of him in a recording booth excitedly teasing his involvement in a new project. Fans wanted to believe that Kelley in the recording booth could mean some sort ofDeathloopDLC was in the works, but was quickly shot down by the actor in a follow-up tweet.Deathloop’stimed exclusivity with PlayStation is endingpretty soon but there has been little chatter about any DLC out of Bethesda or Microsoft to celebrate the game going multi-platform.

Jason Kelley’s acting career spans almost 20 years with one-off roles in TV shows. Interestingly, some of his acting appearances include multiple credits as a Barack Obama impersonator. On his IMdB, he’s credited for 4 video game roles:Vaingloryin 2014,Doom Eternal in 2020,Deathloopin 2021, and most recentlyHorizon Forbidden West. His tweet, though it includes hashtags, does not give any pointed hints. All that is known is that it’s a voice acting role and his tweet shows pride for his role as Colt, so it can be assumed its another video game role.
Kelley was in the news in 2021 as he, like many more at the time, struggled to get a PlayStation 5. Bethesda, who has Arkane as a studio but is now under the Microsoft umbrella, hooked him up with a PS5before the launch ofDeathloopso that he could experience the finished product of the game he had been working on.
With so manygames now in development or delayed, there’s no way to tell what game he could be in next and how big of a role it could be. Every other video game acting role he has been in has been for a supporting role except for Colt. Obviously, he wouldn’t be able to talk about his next role because of NDAs, but his excitement for this next chapter beams through in his smile.
Deathloopis available now for PC and PS5.
