In Chapter 2 ofDeltarune, players have access to a secret route that most fans refer to as “Snowgrave.” When playing through this hidden route, things get really dark, really fast. While taking this secret option has no effect on how the second chapter ofDeltaruneends,it does, however, alter the course of the narrative and the position of several characters.

This makes it obvious that selecting this course of action does seem to have implications that will continue into subsequent chapters. The hidden way that somewhat mirrorsUndertale’s genocide route, however, requires an extremely strict process to finish. Follow the steps listed below andmake sure to have Noelle freeze every enemy encountered, except where specifically noted below,as skipping an enemy or ending the encounter with anything other than freezing the enemy will break the game out of the Snowgrave route.

Preparations

The Snowgrave Route does not properly begin until Noelle joins the party in Cyber City, soany actions performed before then will not impact the progression of the route. However, there are certain optional steps players can take before it starts to make the route, as a whole, much easier.

1. Get the Iron Shackle and Jevilstail

The Iron Shackle islocated in Kris and Ralsei’s jail cell in the Card Castle basement, whilethe Jevilstail is gotten fromsparing Jevil. The increased Magic stat obtained when Noelle equips the Jevilstail makes the earlier parts of the route a little quicker.

2. Get the Spin Cake and the Light Candy

The Spin Cake is gotten by returning Top Chef’s Top Cake to him in Chapter 1, while the Light Candy is obtained by speaking to Noelle in Chapter 1’s epilogue after she leaves the hospital. These are the strongest healing itemsthe player can possibly have for the Snowgrave Route. They help out a lot during the final boss.

3. Get the Tension Bit

The Tension Bit is found in atreasure chest located one room east of the Music Shop in Cyber Field. It grants 32 TP to the player a single time when used. Due to the Tension Bow being impossible to make in the Snowgrave Route (because Color Café is inaccessible, and thus, so are B.ShotBowties) the player loses nothing by using it. Again, it helps during the final boss in particular.

4. Buy the Mecha Saber

The Mecha Saber is a weapon from Kris that can be bought from Sweet, Cap’n and K_K in Cyber Field. It is highly recommended that the player gets this, as giving Kris a higher attack stat is very valuable for this route.

5. Fight Every Enemy Before Noelle Joins

It’s difficult to care too much about the recruits in this route, as the player will lose most of them from playing it anyway (the only ones that can be kept are the Queen’s Mansion enemies), so they might as well fight them for the higher stats.Kris, Susie, and Ralseigain +2 HP for every enemy defeated, and every 10 enemies will give them +1 to Attack and Magic.

Trash Zone And Freeze Ring

As soon as Noelle joins in the First Alleyway, replace her Silver Watch with the Jevilstail andequip Kris with the Iron Shackle(if the player has them).

Walk left to the previous room and encounter a Virovirokun (for clarity, this guide will be referring solely to overworld sprites when talking about enemies). This, and all other enemies, must be defeated with Noelle’s IceShock spell. Beating an enemy with the basic “Fight” command or sparing them will kick the player out of the Snowgrave Route. IceShock costs 16 TP to use, which is the exact number gotten from defending, so just have Kris defend and have Noelle cast Iceshock.

The player must continue to backtrack all the way to the room before Spamton’s shop in the Trash Zone and IceShock a Poppup, another Virovirokun, and a Werewire along the way. They can go to the door of Spamton’s shop to see some optional dialogue from Noelle. Once this has been accomplished, head back to Cyber City andIceShock an Ambyu-Lance and a Tasque before returning to the First Alleyway Save Point. The player can skip the puzzle in the Annoying Mouse Room just by going south repeatedly and answering “Proceed” twice after pressing the switch for the first time. This does not impact the route.

Immediately upon enteringthere will be a cutscene of Susie and Ralsei noticing a “statue” of Rouxls Kaard. After it’s over, leave through the exit left of the bookcase. The player can optionally head to the room to the right and get some dialogue from Spamton.

Spamton NEO Preparation & Battle

The player will now be in a room with a Save Point and a vending machine.Use the Save Point and buy as many CD Bagels from the vending machine as possible.

Once ready, head north to the Fountain. The player will attempt to close the Dark Fountain, only to be interrupted by Spamton NEO. He thanks the player for helping him reach the position he’s in now, only to begin angrily chastising them for trying to close the Dark Fountain and almost ruin everything he has accomplished. To try and keep the Dark Fountain open forever, Spamton NEO will battle the player to stop them, beginning the final boss of the Snowgrave Route.

This version of the Spamton NEO battle is more difficult than the one in the Normal Route for a variety of reasons.
