During its weekly blog post, Bungie reveals a number of upcoming buffs coming toDestiny 2’s exotic scout rifle, Wicked Implement. As a live service title,Destiny 2is constantly changing, both with its seasonal content as well as various updates that provide tweaks and changes to the core experience. AsSeason of the Deep hits its midway point, Bungie has given fans a slight glimpse at the upcoming midseason patch which has already brought a couple of changes to the core experience.

While Bungie isn’t quite ready to discuss everything included in the plannedDestiny 2midseason update ahead of its July 18 launch, the studio did address a couple of tweaks made in the most recent weekly blog post. Namely, the Crucible is getting a couple of updates which aim to improve the overall experience including a change to respawn logic so that players are more apt to spawn closer to the action in safe locations near teammates rather than dedicate spawn rooms. Competitive matchmaking and dynamic skill ranges are also being looked at. While much of the gear and exotic tweaks are still unknown, Bungie did mention that the latest exotic scout rifle is getting a much-needed boost.

Over the past week or so,Destiny 2players have been able to obtain the newest exotic weapon by unlocking secret areas within Deep DIve missions. TheWicked Implement scout rifle is a stasis infused primary weaponthat slows targets after rapidly landing precision hits. Feedback on the gun seems to be mostly positive, though some have pointed out a few shortcomings, which Bungie has apparently heard and is working on fixing. While details were slim, Bungie did confirm that the Wicked Implement is getting a few buffs including adjusting the timing window for proccing its exotic perk called Creeping Attrition.

In an effort to further help players find enjoyment with Wicked Implement, Bungie revealed a few additional tidbits regarding the catalyst. Ultimately, Bungie’s goal withexotic weapon catalysts inDestiny 2is to entice players to go out and get them to allow the gun to achieve its full potential. The perk allows players to collect stasis shard to gradually overflow the magazine, meaning Stasis subclasses likely never need to reload.

For many players, the process of getting their hands onWicked Implement has gotten tougher over time. Considering the exotic quest coincides with the seasonal Deep Dive mission, matchmade players are not always on the same page in terms of what they’re looking to accomplish. Considering that most players are on different steps or trying to complete some aspect of Deep Dives, matchmade fire teams are a bit more uncoordinated with players working on various secrets hidden throughout or perhaps just want to finish the mission in general.

Destiny 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
