The Trials of Osiris game mode has recently made its return toDestiny 2, though one player has already discovered a strange bug causing them to obtain a weapon with a power level of 0 when redeeming loot earned from the limited-time PvP game mode. Crucible enthusiasts withinDestiny 2have been sinking countless hours into the game over the past week, due not only to the return of Trials but to that of the Iron Banner as well.
While a noticeably large portion of theDestiny 2community prefers to avoid its PvPgame modes whenever they can, there’s no denying that time-limited events such as the Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris often offer some of the most powerful loot around. Both of these competitive game modes recently appeared inDestiny 2for the first time since the launch of the game’s latest expansion, with Bungie initially planning to run the Iron Banner sooner but having to delay it due to a bug causing Guardians to become permanently invisible in the Crucible. This change in plans actually led to Trials being run a week ahead of schedule instead, allowing many Guardians to get a head-start on acquiring some of the powerful weapons and gear it offers.

While the rewards available from Trials can rapidlyboost a Guardian’s power level inDestiny 2, one player got some particularly disappointing loot from one of their Trials engrams. The player, known as JithraRufure both in-game and on Reddit, shared their haul with the community via a post on the site, showing off their Whistler’s Whim bow which somehow dropped with 0 power. This was earned after the player, remarkably, reset their rank for the third time during the first weekend of Trials this season. It’s likely that this glitch scarcely occurs, though there doesn’t seem to be any clear reason as to why it happens.
While it might seem crushing at first to receive a weapon - especially one with ideal perks - to drop with a power level so low that it would prevent it from even doing damage, fans should be able to simply infuse the gear to raise its power level if they experience this issue first-hand. Still, withDestiny 2’s Trials of Osiris offering great gunsfor Guardians looking to raise their power level further, players should be careful that their well-earned high-power loot isn’t lost to them.
With Iron Banner back in rotation for the next few weeks, PvP has quickly gained popularity among the community once again.Bungie recently made a blog postdetailing their upcoming plans for PvP, though many fans have noticed that some weapons have already started dominating within the Crucible, particularly The Immortal SMG.
Destiny 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
