Players who haven’t playedDestiny 2much in the last year have a lot of things to do in the game right now, and it’s best to stay ahead, not only to best The Witness and its allies but to prepare for the potential content that will be lost with the release of The Final Shape.

10Claim Rahool’s Secret Stash

Free Materials & Cosmetics Claimed Each Season

There are a lot of free materials in the game available right now, and it is better to go into The Final Shape loaded with upgrade materials. The best and easiest way to get some of the rare currencies in the game is byredeeming items from Rahool’s Secret Stash.

Players can find this stash terminal right behind Master Rahool. It’s important to claim these materials right now as they will be available to reclaim again when The Final Shape launches. The terminal can only hold one stash at a time, so if these materials are not claimed before The Final Shape, they won’t be available to claim the second time in The Final Shape.

8Spend Legendary Shards

Legendary Shard Currency Will Be Sunset In The Final Shape

One of the biggest changes that is coming in The Final Shape is theremoval of legendary shardsfrom the game. Legendary shards used to be one of the most important currencies in the game, and players have been farming it from day 1 ofDestiny 2. In order to obtain the value of these legendary shards in The Final Shape, players need to convert them into other currencies.

Players can also convert some legendary shards into Glimmer, as it will be an essential currency in the next DLC. Another great option is to buy Phantasmal Fragments on the Moon, as players can always sell these fragments to Cryptarch for Glimmer.

Engram Tracker in the character’s inventory

7Turn in Engrams

Acquired Engrams Are Reset With A New Expansion

Before The Final Shape begins, players also need to check their engram trackers and turn in all the remaining engrams listed there. With the launch of every new season, all the engrams disappear, and the resources are wasted. Players can also use these engrams to focus on specific loot with the vendors, including weapons and armor sets.

Each vendor has different loot available for focusing, and engram focusing will also require some other currencies. It is better to redeem all the engrams at the end of the season, increasing the chances of getting better rewards on higher-rank resets.

Character’s vault at the tower

6Vault Cleaning

Make Space For New Effective Weapons & Armor

Bungie releases loads of new stuff every season, but players struggle to fit it all in their vaults. With The Final Shape updatebringing 100 more slots, it’s a good idea to clear out any junk weapons before the new content drops. The best way to manage vaults is to keep track of the upcoming meta and ensure Guardians are well-equipped with the weapons and armor that will be useful in the new content.

Another thing to keep in mind is in The Final Shape update, Bungie will remove power limits from all legacy gear. This means players can upgrade any old weapons to current power standards, making them usable in the new expansion’s content and the rest of the game.

1Bounty Farming

Completing Bounties Helps Level Players Up Fast With The Release Of New Seasons

Bounty farming is a common practice many players do before the launch of a new season or expansion. It is not an extremely necessary thing to do, but it provides many benefits when new content is released.

Players keep acquiring and completing the weekly and daily bounties from different vendors and turn them in after the launch of the new expansion to instantly boost their season pass and unlock many artifact mods.
