Destiny 2provides a number of different experiences for players to try out. There’s the purely PvE Vanguard playlists that letDestiny 2players tackle the game’s various Strikes, while the Crucible is reserved for PvP play. And then there’s the Gambit, which combines PvE and PvP, challenging players to kill computer-controlled enemies, bank motes, and invade the other team. While Gambit inDestiny 2has its fans, it also has its fair share of critics, and it seems that criticism will be leading to some improvements in the mode.

Reddit user Zorseking34 recently took to the forum to complain aboutDestiny 2’s Gambit mode. Zorseking34 pointed out how one team in Gambit could have a significant lead in motes and yet are still able to constantly invade the other team. This makes the mode “insufferable,” according to Zorseking34, and many in the comments agreed with their assessment. Zorseking34 asked Bungie to “please fix Gambit,” and community manager dmg04 actually responded.

“Yeah, this can be a pretty rough time! Team is looking at some improvements to make in the Witch Queen timeframe. We’ll be sure to pass this feedback along,” dmg04 said in his reply. While this is not a full-on committal thatDestiny 2Gambit changes are coming alongside theWitch Queenexpansion, it should still be reassuring to those who are frustrated with the mode. It confirms that Bungie is aware that there are improvements to be made and that the developers are potentially “looking at” implementing some around the timeWitch Queenrolls around.

TheDestiny 2Witch Queen expansion is still quite a ways away, so fans of the looter-shooter shouldn’t expect these Gambit improvements to come any time soon, if they do at all. As of the time of this writing, theDestiny 2 Witch Queenrelease dateis set for February 25, and so it will likely be months before fans learn of Gambit improvements.

The argument could be made that people who don’t like playing Gambit should simply ignore it, but the mode is required for those who want to complete all of theDestiny 2Season of the Lostseasonal challenges. There are multipleDestiny 2seasonal challenges tied directly to Gambit, so anyone that wants to get the most out of their season pass will need to play the game mode quite a bit.

WhileDestiny 2’sWitch Queenexpansion is still quite a ways away, Bungie has some things planned between now and then to keep players engaged. Most notably, theDestiny 230th Anniversary Pack contentis set to launch in December, adding a new dungeon and bringing back the fan favorite Gjallarhorn Exotic rocket launcher.

Destiny 2is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
