Summary

Contests are a regular thing forDestiny 2players, typically focusing on the game’s fashion and customization metas, and Bungie has a winner for its latest, which let the community design a new emblem for the game. Custom emblems aren’t anything new, with the studio releasing several as a reward for donating tocharitable efforts such as Black Lives Matterand disaster relief. The contest continues this cycle, with the Bungie Foundation leading the charge as it sifts through plenty of submissions until landing on the winner.

Destiny 2, as of this writing, is in the back half of the game’s latest season, Season of the Deep, which sent players back to a newly returned Titan to answer a call for aid from Deputy Commander Sloane. She reveals a mysterious creature living in the moon’s methane oceans may be able to aid the Last City’s fight against The Witness and provide valuable information about its origins. However, guardians are also forced to contend with forces belonging to the Hive god Xivu Arath.

Bungie spoke about the emblem community contest in the latest This Week inDestinypost, taking the chance to thank everyone who submitted to it before revealing the winning design. The honors went to Twitter user Alex@a_w_mont’s design, titled “A Guardian’s Notebook,” which looked like it had been ripped right off the page of a high school student’s notebook. Along with the game’s tri-corn logo, the emblem features sketches ofSaint-14, Gjallarhorn, a ghost, and the Traveler, to name a few.

Aside from the winning design, Bungie didn’t go much further into the contest or any of the submissions it received during the two-week period it ran for. The studio said it did receive “dozens” of submissions that the game’s team got to vote on, with “A Guardian’s Notebook” ultimately ending up as the winner. The post goes on to reiterate how grateful everyone at Bungie is for anyone who participated in theBungie Daycelebration and contest, especially as it gave many in the community a chance to showcase their “understanding of whatDestinyis.”

It remains to be seen what the next community contest will ultimately be, as Bungie has plenty of options to choose from when it decides to run another. The most common in recent memory has given players the chance to decide on a new weapon ornament designed by a community artist picked by the studio. Its most recent one saw the Witherhoard walk away as the winner, with an ornament befittingSeason of the Deep.
