Though Bungie is usually infamously tight-lipped about upcomingDestiny 2content, the developer’s latest blog post has revealed a lot of information about some of the key content coming with the Season of the Deep. The most notable of these is the first detailed look at the new underwater-themed armor ornaments forDestiny 2and what looks to be a new playable location.
Bungie’sfirstDestiny 2: Season of the Deep posterprovided a few hints about what might happen over the course of the next season. Now, however, a bunch of information has seemingly been fully verified, potentially even going so far as to confirm aLightfallleak the community has had for months now.

More specifically, the oldSeason of the Deep leak forDestiny 2now seems more likely than ever before, with one of the new in-game screenshots outright stating that it depicts the sunset moon of Titan. Underwater operations seem to be the name of the game in Season of the Deep, and from the looks of it, players will have an opportunity to unlock a full suit of underwater creature-themed armor ornaments, which will likely be the key set of goodies available via the Season Pass reward track.
AlongsideDestiny 2’s ability buffs in Season 21, this new content release also promises a full arsenal’s worth of new weaponry. One of the revealed highlights is the new Last Rite Scout Rifle. The default configuration of this Tex Mechanica weapon is that of a Kinetic Aggressive weapon, meaning it’s likely to be a particularly potent, hard-hitting piece of kit. Players will be able to customize it through three unique activity-themed Ornaments, as is usually the case with Ritual weaponry.

Finally, the aforementioned bottom-of-the-sea location has also been shown off. Described as “one of the places [where players] will be headed” as part of Season of the Deep, the picture has been titled “TP_2023_S21_Titan_Sea_Floor,” implying that players may indeed end up duking it out with enemies at the very bottom of Titan’s methane oceans. It’s still unclear whether Titan will be an actual patrol zone or just a set of fixed missions, but if it’s the former, it may be the first major case of Bungiepermanently bringing backDestiny 2’s sunset content.
With a big round ofExotic tuning coming inDestiny 2Season 21, too, it seems like Bungie is trying to reinvigorate the player base afterLightfallreceived poor to middling reviews across the board. Whether that pans out or not is anyone’s guess at this time, but with Season of the Deep slated to launch on May 22, it shouldn’t be long before it’s clear whether Bungie is on the right track.

Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
