Bungie has unveiled the armor sets for the upcomingDestiny 2Season 22. The name of the season still remains a mystery, but it will be unveiled at the Bungie showcase scheduled for August 22, that will also uncover more details aboutDestiny 2’sThe Final ShapeDLCand beyond.
After the events ofLightfall, the Guardians were seemingly clueless about the Witness’s whereabouts and didn’t know how to find them. Luckily, an old ally, Sloane, resurfaced on Titan during the ongoingDestiny 2Season of the Deep to help the Guardians. She introduced the team to a sea creature named Ahsa, who helped the Vanguard learn more about theWitness’ origins inDestiny 2, and also revealed that the Guardians will need Savathun’s help to pursue the Witness. Bearing this in mind, Season 22 will set an interesting precedent forThe Final Shape, and now Bungie has revealed some exciting armor pieces for the season.

This comes viaDestiny 2’s official Twitter account that revealed the armor sets which have a wooden theme. The caption of the image says “The Witch Queen must rise,” reiterating Savathun’s return to the game in some capacity, which will possibly be achieved after interacting with her Ghost, Immaru. Interestingly, the image showcasing the armor sets also shows an environment that looks very similar to Savathun’s Throne World, which could be where the Guardians are headed.
Along with new armor sets, Season 22 will also introduce a plethora of other changes to the game. For instance, it is introducing an Exotic Mission Rotator that will bring back fan-favorite Exotic missions like Presage and Vox Obscura. Additionally, Bungie is also looking tobuff underutilized Exotics inDestiny 2Season 22to encourage more buildcrafting in the community. In addition to this, players are also getting a new Hand Cannon archetype with burst-fire capabilities, and the Dead Man’s Tale Exotic Scout Rifle will also be a craftable weapon starting Season 22.
Bungie also recently unveiled theDestiny 2Season 22 Artifact Mods, along with new sandbox features called Elemental Orbs for Arc, Void, and Solar subclasses. These orbs are inspired by Strand Tangles, where Guardians can throw them towards enemies to Jolt, Scorch, or make them Volatile. Aside from this, a reprised raid is also arriving in Season 22, which could be Crota’s End according to several leaks.
