During theDestiny 2Showcase, Bungie shared more details about its Vex-themedSeason of the WitchPvP map titled Multiplex. The Multiplex map is a stabilized Vex network with a lo-fi aesthetic. The Infinite Forest is being compiled within the map itself, and several large Vex structures offer cover in chaotic gunfights. A large Vex pillar acts as a central point for Multiplex, so it’s one of the most active locations on the map. Bungie also notes that the Multiplex map does not have as many deep sight lines when compared to other PvP maps, so close-quarters combat may be frequent.
Alongside the new Multiplex map in Season of the Witch,Destiny 2players may try out the new Relic mode in Crucible. Relic is a 6v6 party mode where players may defeat their Crucible opponents with relic items from past raids and seasonal activities. These relics include the Aegis shield fromthe Vault of Glass raid, the Synaptic Spear from Season of the Risen, and the beloved Scythe from Season of the Haunted. Before using a relic, players must charge their personal relic energy by defeating opponents with weapons and abilities. After reaching a full relic charge, a relic may be obtained from the relic depot located on the PvP map.
These new PvP additions forDestiny 2are a promising start for the long-term future of the Crucible leading into The Final Shape expansion. Forsaken’s popular The Citadel map will also return inDestiny 2Season 23, andBungie’s newDestiny 2"PvP Strike" teamwill work to provide a steady flow of maps and modes into the Crucible.
Destiny 2is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
