Destiny 2’sWitch Queenexpansion has been officially out for just over a month now, and it rapidly became one of the favorite releases in the entire franchise for many fans. The buildup to the release ofThe Witch Queenwas quite intense, narratively speaking, and there also was a lot of hype surrounding the reveal of Savathun’s in-game look and the fact that she was going to have an army ofHive Lightbearers. The expansion also introduced many new features forDestiny 2players to toy with, such as the rework of Void subclasses and weapon crafting, further building on the idea that crafting one’s own build is a major point in the game.

To make things even better, Bungie releasedSeason of the Risenas the accompanying seasonal content forThe Witch Queen.Season of the Risen is now considered one of the bestDestiny 2releases since Bungie adopted the seasonal model, and the reason is that it ties into the themes ofThe Witch Queen, and also it has a great story that concluded after only four weeks, as opposed to Season of the Lost.

Destiny 2’sWitch Queenexpansion also came with several new Exotic items to improve the general experience of the game, and one of them managed to go above and beyond. In fact, alegally blindDestiny 2player praised Bungie for the Osteo Striga SMG, which fires homing projectiles that make it more merciful to aim at the general direction of a target rather than trying to actively hit them. Maybe this was an unintentional silver lining, but it adds to the long list of reasons whyThe Witch Queenis so successful.
