After weeks of teases from Bungie, as well as countless rumors and speculation,Destiny 2fans finally learned the details behind the upcoming season 13. A newSeason of the Chosen trailer arrived this week, revealing that the daughter of Calus, now Empress of the Cabal, has arrived at The Last City in an effort to make an alliance with Zavala and the Vanguard. With the Darkness continuing the encroach on the Solar System, Caiatl believes the two sides can prove to be a formidable opponent.

However, negotiations soon break down as the two sides are once again at odds with one another. As a result of this, Season 13 adds in a new Battlegrounds mode where three players battle against Cabal champions in familiar locations that have been transformed by the enemy faction. In addition, players will be able to revisitclassic Devil’s Lair and Fallen S.A.B.E.R. strikesfrom the originalDestinyand chase new weapons including a solar exotic bow called Ticuu’s Divination that fires charged seeking arrows.

Where is Xur?

This weekend, players can track Xur back inside of the European Dead Zone in his usual spot overlooking the Winding Cove.

Fast travel to the Winding Cove zone and immediately head towards the back where the Fallen typically patrol. Climb the cliffs back here to find Xur standing on a ledge not too far from a crashed ship.

Class Armor and Exotic Cypher

While Xur’s role is essentially the same as it was prior to the Beyond Light expansion, the exotic merchant also has weekly quests that players can acquire to unlock an exotic cypher. Not only are these required to purchase a second fated engram, but they’re necessary toacquire legacy exotic gear from the new kiosk. Players can earn a new cypher by completing strikes and winning crucible or gambit matches. Gain bonus points for playing with clanmates or finishing more challenging activities.

Other than that, here are Xur’s three gear pieces this weekend:

Sunbracers - Warlock gauntlets

It’s been a very long time since the Sunbracers have made a return with Xur. Ultimately intended for Dawnblade Warlocks, the Sunbracers increase the duration of all solar grenades, while also granting unlimited solar grenade energy for a brief time after a solar melee kill is performed. The grenade cooldown time is cut way down following a solar melee kill, allowing the player to toss out nearly unlimited amounts of grenades until the effect wears off.

With the focus on grenades, this gear is great for clearing encounters with plenty of enemies and maybe not as effective in smaller modes like the Crucible. Overall, this item is fine but not going to be anything that is a must buy for Warlocks.

Solar Enhanced. Stat Values:

Gwisin Vest - Hunterchest armor

Spectral Blade Hunters should take note this week as the Gwisin Vest is again on sale. The main reason is due to its intrinsic perk called Roving Assassin. While the super is active, each spectral blade kill lets the player vanish and gain more super energy, making it last longer than normal.

Considering the benefits of this exotic gear, it is one of the go to armor pieces forNightstalker Spectral Blade huntersand is definitely worth owning. Plus, the roll on the armor this week is actually very good, so it may be worth picking up for that alone.

Severance Enclosure - Titan chest armor

The Severance Enclosure comes with an exotic perk called Spheromatik Trigger which unleashes a damaging explosion after an Arc, Solar, or Void melee final blow. Finishers and final blows against more powerful enemies increase the radius and damage of the explosion.

While it may not be the best Titan exotic, it’s no doubt a fun one to play around with especially in this current season. Similar to the Warlock’s Felwinter’s Helm exotic, many ofthe seasonal mods and Warmind Cellscan result in room clearing damage when paired with this gear. Ultimately, it’s not a required purchase by any means, though it may be worth it for those who want to mess around and have a bit of fun.

Arc Enhanced. Stat Values:

Exotic Weapon

Just on sale about a month ago, the controversial fusion rifle Telesto is back in stock. This weapon has had a very interesting history with the game, responsible forbreaking many parts of the game in the favor of players. This includes, but isn’t limited to helping players cheese the Blind Well event, proc certain buffs and benefits for other players, giving free special ammo in large quantities, and much more. Because of these glitches, the gun has become very player friendly and likely a massive headache for Bungie.

The weapon’s intrinsic perk is called Unplanned Reprieve which causes fusion projectiles to attach and detonate with a delayed void blast. It’s also paired with the Harbinger’s Pulse perk which instantly reloads equipped primary and energy weapons after multi-kills with the Telesto. Naturally, it’s a great PvE weapon as its sticky explosives cover a wide area and can clear adds very fast. It’s a solid PvP weapon as well, though it really shines once the Masterwork catalyst has been applied to increase the ammo reserves. Thankfully, the catalyst will be arriving again next week in Season 13.
