Rellana’s Twin Blades are one of the new Light Greatsword weapons added inElden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.It’s one of the best weapons a melee-focused mage can use, and players will want to get these as soon as possible if they want to use both blade and sorcery in battle.
There’s a fair bit of nuance involved with Rellana’s Twin Blades. It’s a paired weaponlikeShadow of the Erdtree’sFalx, and it deals three different types of damage across its attacks. Here’s a simple build that focuses on improving the weapon’s melee prowess without sacrificing the effectiveness of its magical attacks.

This stat spread is based off a Wretch, which is ironically one ofthe best starting classes inElden Ringif you’re looking for versatility. You’ll need at least 13 STR and 16 DEX, INT, and FTH if you want to wield Rellana’s Twin Blades effectively, and if you want it to be effective in every situation, the stat spread above should make the weapon scale nicely in the DLC with 15 Scadutree Blessings.
Putting at least 40 points in both STR and DEX is good for most Quality builds, though in this case, players will want to dump extra points into INT to improve the damage of the Twin Blades' Ash of War as well as the Magic damage dealt by the weapon in general. With this stat distribution, players will get a decent Attack Rating of 1674 in the DLC (Scadu 16) or 858 in the base game.
Talismans and Other Equipment
As a melee-oriented build, you’ll want to use Talismans that support your ability to fight in close quarters. The list above is a good all-around setup that’s useful in both general exploration and boss battles, thoughthe Rellana’s Cameo Talismancan be exchanged for something else if you find that you don’t have the time to activate it with Moon and Fire Stance.
Since Rellana’s Twin Blades is a paired weapon, you can equip a weapon with a special passive on your off-hand and still benefit from it even if you’re dual-wielding swords. Good off-hand options include:
Any armor set will do for this build, though players may want to equip ones that have benefits,such as the Rakshasa set.
Spells and Incantations
The good thing about having 66 Intelligence is you may use whatever offensive Sorcery you can outside the Moon ones. This will open up a lot of options for a ton of situations where you’re better off fighting with magic than with your swords. If you don’t want to use Sorceries, then the light attack of the Twin Blades' Moon and Fire Stance should be able to cleave through most normal enemies relatively easily. Use a strong staff like the Meteorite Staff and theCarian Regal Scepter in baseElden Ringto cast your Sorceries.
As for Incantations, there’s not a lot you can do with just 16 Faith. However, if you mix theFaith Knot Crystal Tearin your Flask of Wondrous Physick, you’ll get +10 Faith for free, which is enough for you to castGolden Vowbefore starting a difficult fight. If you’d rather use that Physick slot for something else, you can craft Golden Vow consumables by getting the Battlefield Priest’s Cookbook (3), which you can find in one of the army tents in front of the Shadow Keep’s main gate.
