WithFall Guysdeveloper Mediatonic having sorted the server issues from launch, the studio is free to work on fixing other issues andcreating the next season ofFall Guyscontent. As such, patch notes were released today that include several requested features and adjustments to the game.
The patch will release some time “in the next week” if all goes as planned, and one of its biggest aspects will be the addition of some basic PlayStation 4 controller settings toFall Guys. These include the option to invert the X/Y axis, as well as the usual sensitivity settings available in most console releases. Hopefully if therumored Nintendo Switch version ofFall Guyscomes it will launch with these options, as it’s a bit surprising that they weren’t available from day one.

The patch also features another simple but highly requested addition: auto-spectating party members when in spectator mode. In the game’s current build it sometimes takes a long time to find friends after being knocked out, especially in the earlier rounds, so being placed onto them from the get-go is a helpful addition for those who play in groups.
This week’sFall Guysupdate also sees some stage fixes, including updates to Slime Climb and therecently added Jump Showdown level. In the former, players can no longer grab certain obstacles. In the latter, certain geometry was changed to prevent an exploit, and the camera was refined to fix auto-panning. These updates are great to see, as both stages are standouts whenever they come up in aFall Guysepisode. Hopefully the tail-grabbing mechanic will be fine-tuned next, but that remains to be seen.
Other minor fixes include visual fixes to certain outfits (maybe it will finally be easier to identify what side the pineapple is on in team play) and improved UI for non-Pro models of the PS4. The game’s 5 most frequent crashes have also been stopped, and text in both the in-game store andFall Guys’trophy/achievement list was corrected. Perhaps in a future patchsome of the leaked skinswill be added to the game.
Overall, this seems like a very solid list for one ofFall Guys’first true updates. It even ends withanother shot at Yellow Team, as the developers jokingly comment on a nonexistent speed nerf for everyone’s least favorite opponent in team games. Mediatonic clearly knows their audience well, and hopefully great updates like these will continue to come to the game for many years to come.
