One creativeFallout 4player has built a massive, incredibly detailed pirate island off the coast of The Commonwealth using the game’s Workshop feature.Fallout 4is coming up on its eighth anniversary this fall and the post-apocalyptic Bethesda RPG still has a dedicated community of players, many of which utilize a combination of the Workshop feature and mods to make fun and interesting creations across the Boston wasteland.
Fallout 4has had itsfair share of DLC since its 2015 launch such as Automatron, Far Harbor, and Nuka-World. The Far Harbor DLC specifically doubled down on the base game’s gloomy New England setting, sending players up to coastal Maine. Of the three story DLCs, Far Harbor most closely hearkens back to the age of piracy with its nautical environmental themes. However, this must not have been enough oneFallout 4player who took the creation of a true pirate-themed Fallout settlement it into their own hands.

Reddit user Sirbalz posted an image of a humongous pirate island settlement they’ve createdusingFallout 4’s in-game Workshop feature. The towering structure, surrounded by pirate ships and littered with palm trees, appears to sit off the coast of The Commonwealth and is mostly made up of a multitude of buildings and rooms. A “King’s Port” sign as well as a “Welcome to California” sign can both be seen out front as a kraken viciously rips apart a pirate ship off to the side.
Sirbalz also posted a tour of the island on YouTube, further displaying the intricate and highly detailed interiors of the pirate settlement. The video showcased a variety of vendors and bars as well as a dining hall area all populated by live NPC’s dressed to the nines in all-out pirate attire. Out on the water behind the island are two big pirate ships and their crews in the midst of a heated cannon battle. There’s even a small cave system underneath the island complete with caged skeletons and trawl nets strewn about. In the YouTube description of the tour video Sirbalz also provided several paragraphs of background lore for the island fortress which mention connections toFallout 4’s Minutemen faction and its leader Preston Garvey.
Of course, this is stillpost-apocalyptic Boston we’re dealing with inFallout 4so the pirate settlement does feature a small population of “normal” assets like stop signs and power lines from the base game. However, these small details don’t at all take away from the pirate-themed immersion and sheer talent and creativity put on display here by Sirbalz.
Fallout 4is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions on the way in 2023.
