Cap or Bottle Cap (stylized: Bottlecap) is a reserved currency inFallout 76. Within the post-apocalyptic world ofFallout, Caps are essential for trading, bartering, and compensating individuals in Appalachia. In terms of gameplay, players rely on Caps to purchase items and facilitate fast travel. They earn Caps for completing quests, killing enemies, looting stashes, or selling items.

In the current version of the game, each character can stack up to 40,000 Bottlecaps. If players choose to trade goods for Caps, they can make up to 1,400 Caps per day. This limit exists becauseFallout 76Vendors collectively have a finite pool of Caps available for trading.

Best Ways to Farm Caps in Fallout 76

Aside from selling excess items to Vendors, other ways of farming Caps inFallout 76include vending valuables with CAMP Vendors, harvesting and reselling plants or drinks, hunting down Cap stashes, and completing daily missions and world events.

Resell West Tek Weapons

One of the fastest ways to earn more Caps inFallout 76is by farming and reselling weapons at the West Tek research center. This facility teems with robots andmutantsthat drop valuable weaponry. Engaging in a daily raid at this location can yield a couple of hundred Bottlecaps.

Hunt Down Bottlecap Stashes

The best way to make easy Caps is by looting Cap Stashes that spawn in specific locations. Every time players join a new server, there’s a chance of discovering boxes brimming with Bottlecaps across the map. All they need to do is revisit these spots whenever possible. For enhanced earnings, players can equip the Cap Collector perk in advance, allowing them to earn up to 100% more currency from these stashes.

Get the Daily 1,400 Caps from the Vendors

A basic form of Cap farming is selling unused items to Vendors because they have 1,400 Caps to spend per day. The best items for that are ammunition and Nuka Colas. But players are advised to exchange anything they don’t need with Caps.

The daily Vendor limit is shared among all of them. When a player sells 1,400 Cap worth of items to one Vendor, all other merchants will also reach the quota. So, the player will need to wait for 24 hours before they can continue farming Caps.

Set Up a CAMP Vending Machine

A CAMP Vending Machine is a personal vendor at the base. Players can put their valuables or unwanted items in this device, set prices, and wait for other players to come and buy them. This is the ideal way of farming Caps because it has a much higher limit than the daily Vendors’ cap and—more importantly—is passive profit.

The best items for selling at CAMP Vendors are Legendaries, Ultracite Ammo, rare costumes, Mutation Serums, andPower Armor pieces or plans.

Cap Stash Farming

Farm and Resell Edibles and Drinks

Growing Tato and purifying waterat the CAMPare two ideal ways of farming Caps. Vendors pay up to 5 Caps per bottle of purified water and 2 per Tato, making them some of the most profitable consumables in the game. And the good thing is that they come for free, meaning that the overall profit margin is much higher than other Cap farming methods.

Participate in World Events
