Like most MMOs,Final Fantasy 14offers players an opportunity to change their looks – be it on a whim, a calculated decision, in a slight manner, or in a more dramatic fashion. With the recent addition ofmale Viera toFinal Fantasy 14, many people are interested in giving them a try, and for those who are unsatisfied with their character’s appearance, there are two ways to go about it in the lands of Eorzea (and the world of Hydaelyn at large).
The first option inFinal Fantasy 14is to employ the services of the Aesthetician, an eccentric Elezen who can be unlocked by completing a brief questline in Limsa Lominsa at level 15. The Aesthetician can then be summoned using the Crystal Bell at an inn room, or inside a player’s private abode through the furnishing version of the Crystal Bell. This option allows the players to alter their hairstyle, hair color, eyebrows, lip color, facial features, tattoos, earrings, face paint, and face paint colors – all for the low price of 2,000 gil.

For those who feel that they want to change their appearance in more radical ways, Square Enix has implemented the option of using Fantasia, a consumable potion item that allows players to alter their looks using the fullfreedom of character creation thatFinal Fantasy 14provides.
How To Obtain And Use Fantasia In Final Fantasy 14
Each character has an opportunity to obtain a free vial of Fantasia by completing the final quest ofA Realm Reborn named “The Ultimate Weapon”– which also unlocks flying in all pre-expansion zones, as well as provides the players with their very own suit of Magitek Armor.
The alternative option, and the only one for players who have already used up their vial of Fantasia, is to spend their real money throughFinal Fantasy 14’sMog Store. One vial of Fantasia costs $10, but Square Enix also offers bundles at a reduced price.
When a player buys Fantasia from the Mog Store, the website asks them to select the character who will receive the vial through the game’s personal mail system. After picking up the item from their inbox, the process of using a vial of Fantasia is the same, regardless of the means through which it was obtained.
Consuming the vial of Fantasia directs the players upon the character creation screen upon their next login, where they get the opportunity to change their race, gender, height, skin color, and all the other options that the Aesthetician cannot provide. It is recommended – prior to using a Fantasia and logging out of the game – to go to an inn room in one of the game’s major cities and to remove all equipment from the character except their primary (and secondary) weapons or tools.
A character does not need to spend their Fantasia token immediately upon use, and the option does not disappear if the player exits the process of recustomizing their character. It is only consumed after confirming the changes made in the character creation screen.
