Final Fantasy 16was released earlier this year, delivering a much darker experience than previous titles in the long-running series. Besides gifting the land with magic, each Mothercrystal gifts an individual, called a Dominant, with the ability to control an Eikon,Final Fantasy 16’s summons. Clive is revealed to be the ultimate Dominant, able to absorb the powers of every Eikon and wield them in battle. While Clive’s story is over by the timeFinal Fantasy 16’s credits roll, a few of the title’s biggest mysteries persist. Square-Enix recently announced that DLC will be coming to the title to address these mysteries and grant fans an even deeper understanding of the land of Valisthea.

Final Fantasy 16’s Appearance Feature Added New Outfits
Earlier this month,Square-Enix released Update 1.10 forFinal Fantasy 16. The update delivered some significant Quality of Life features, including a time limit to Arcade Mode, improved crafting, and various bug fixes. To many fans' surprise, the update added a brand-new feature, allowing fans to change characters' outfits and the appearance of Clive’s weapon. Using the Arete Stone in the Hideaway, fans can take advantage of the Appearance feature to make Clive’s weapon appear like any other weapon they have unlocked at the time.
Alongside the launch ofFinal Fantasy 16’s Appearance mode, Square-Enix released new alternate outfits for a host of characters, which could also be accessed from the Arete Stone. Players who did so could change the appearance of Ambrosia the Chocobo, Clive Rosfield, Jill Warrick, Joshua Rosfield, and Torgal. Immediately, these costumes, and the ability to change weapon appearances, were a hit among fans, prompting many to hope that more were on the way. With Square-Enix’s recent announcement thatFinal Fantasy 16will receive various future DLCs, fans may see their hopes become a reality.

Final Fantasy 16’s upcoming DLCscan’t stop the title’s new outfits in their tracks. Were this approach to be carried over to costumes, Clive and his friends could don some of the most iconic looks in theFinal Fantasyfranchise.
It’s unclear when or if additional costumes will be added toFinal Fantasy 16in the future. However, the prospect of alternate skins for both characters and weapons arriving with the title’s DLC seems promising. According to Square-Enix, the DLCs are still a long way off, with no potential release windows currently being shared. However, Square-Enix has hinted that fans hoping to learn future ofFinal Fantasy 16should stay tuned this Holiday season, as an announcement is expected to arrive near the end of the year.
