Thankfully, userspre-ordering the digital version ofFinal Fantasy 16will be able to preload the game before it comes out, allowing them to start playing at midnight local time. PS5 owners can generally start preloading games 48 hours before launch, andFinal Fantasy 16is no different, as PlayStation Game Size confirms that preload functionality will start on June 20.
This 90.18 GB total is for version 1.0 of the game, and it’ll be interesting to see ifFinal Fantasy 16’s file size changes as Square Enix releases more updates for it. While Square Enix previously confirmed that the development team is not working on a day one patch for the game, it recently announced thatFinal Fantasy 16will get a day one patchafter all. Thankfully, this day one update will only be 300 MB in size, and it will feature bug fixes along with performance improvements.
Users interested in playing the game should note that Square Enix has released alengthy demo forFinal Fantasy 16that consists of its opening couple of hours. Upon beating this demo, players will be able to transfer their progress to the full game should they decide to purchase it, and they will also unlock a more combat-focused level that allows fans to experiment with its gameplay mechanics.
Final Fantasy 16launches on June 22 for PS5.
