Summary

A newcomer toStardew Valleyfound themselves with some unbelievably bad luck after a Meteorite appeared on their farm. TheStardew Valleyrandom event can strike when players least expect it, but usually it’s something to be excited about.

Stardew Valleyfollows a set scheduleof seasons and events, but there are random encounters that can occur at nearly any time. Players might experience a witch hovering over their chicken coop, a fairy blessing their crops, or random objects appearing from outer space, like the Meteorite or alien capsule. Most of these events have some potential perks, like giving the player a void chicken egg, or speeding up the progress of a crop’s growth. Meteorites can be broken up for some valuable items, but only if the player has reached a certain point in their pickaxe development. For players just starting out, this could pose a problem, as it did for this newcomer.

Unfortunately for this player, a Meteorite spawned in one of the most inconvenient places possible. A screenshot shared by lemoncrime shows their farmer staring at the Meteorite, which is blocking the southern path out of their farm. This shortcut is readily used by players to quickly access Marnie’s Farm, the Wizard’s Tower, Leah’s home, and the local plants and pond. While the Meteorite could be broken down with a Gold or better quality Pickaxe, it’s likely this player doesn’t have one yet.

Four Corners Farm Secret Passageway

Other players were quick to commiserate with the fan, though it turns out that their choice of farm, at least, was a lucky one. While some farms' exits would be completely blocked off in this scenario, this player is on the Four Corners Farm, which was added in a laterStardew Valleyupdate. TheFour Corners Farmhas two side passages leading into the southern exit of the farm that are blocked off by large tree stumps. In comparison to needing a Gold Pickaxe to break the Meteorite, large tree stumps can be cleared with a more humble Copper Axe. Even if the player doesn’t yet have one, it shouldn’t take long to acquire the materials necessary for Clint to upgrade the player’s tools.

Thankfully, this player’s progress shouldn’t be hampered too terribly by this random experience. In comparison, some players dread the arrival of Meteorite, as they can occasionally spawn in the middle of crops and destroy whatever was there. Nonetheless, once a player has the right tool to destroy a Meteorite, they can at least gain valuable materials likeIridium Oreand Geodes.
