A new leak fromGenshin Impact’s upcoming region of Fontaine reveals a brand-new location that players will be able to explore within the Hydro Archon’s homeland. With the world of Teyvat’s next major region set to arrive in just a couple of months, HoYoverse has begun to roll out teasers for the new locale. The recent Version 3.8 Special Program featured a small segmentrevealing multiple locations within Fontaineand teasing new mechanics like diving and underwater gameplay. Now, a quaint new location from the next region is being teased.
While not much is known about the geography ofGenshin Impact’s next major region, previous leaks have given players plenty of teasers about the layout of Fontaine. Updates from the game’s in-development build have revealed datapoints that could signify major roads within Fontaine, alongside new low-poly models for the out-of-bounds region added in Version 3.6. Leaks have also heavily suggested an abundance of rivers and lakes will be present throughout the Hydro Archon’s region. The most recent leak of the region’s geography shows off a small village players are set to visit.

The new location is said to be a fishing village withinGenshin Impact’s newest regionwith players likely visiting the village during Fontaine’s story. The leak showcases a mix of traditional architecture along with some of Fontaine’s more technologically advanced elements like waterwheels. The Fontaine region is expected to be introduced toGenshin Impactwith the release of Version 4.0 in mid-August.
While the fishing village concept art shows off one of Fontaine’s smaller locales, the upcoming region has already seen several leaks about its capital city. Recent rumors have suggestedFontaine will sport a “twin city” structure, boasting two major cities likened to London and Paris rather than one traditional main hub. Previous in-development leaks have also shown off potential 3D models for parts of the city, featuring a heavily steampunk-inspired aesthetic. Fontaine’s regional culture is said to be largely inspired by late 19th century France with a mix of technological advancement and artistic achievement.
Fontaine’s upcoming addition toGenshin Impactcomes as the region has already featured prominently within the game’s lore.Genshin Impact’s “Kamera” gadget allowing players to take in-game photos is said to have originated in Fontaine through multiple in-game events. HoYoverse also recently introduced the region’s first unique character withCharlotte playing a major role during Version 3.7. The rumored fishing village will serve as another new place for players to explore once the Fontaine region officially launches later this year.
