PlayStation has officially confirmed that 2018’sGod of Waris coming to PC in the near future. According to a recent Epic Games Store pre-order listing, this will include a launch on the digital storefront.
God of Warhas reached many PlayStation fans since it was released in 2018, selling 19.5 million copies on PS4 and garnering high acclaim across the gaming industry. Now thatGod of Waris coming to PC, a new audience of gamers will have access to the Santa Monica Studios title. In addition to appearing on the Epic Games Store when it comes to PC,God of Waris also currently available for pre-order on Steam.

According to Epic Games, there are approximately 160 million users on the Epic Games Store and soon they’ll have access to one of PlayStations greatest hits. Although it’s a new PC storefront, the Epic Games Store has seen tremendous growth since it launched, and although those accounts aren’t based on active use, it’s likely that these gamers continue to visit the storefront for the regularfree titles being offered by Epic Games. Comparatively, Steam boasts 120 million monthly active users, making it the more active PC storefront as of now.
With the price ofGod of Warbeing the same on the Epic Games Store as it is on Steam, PC gamers will likely choose to purchase the game on the storefront that they prefer. Because the Epic Games Store’s revenue share is higher than Steam’s, PlayStation stands to profit more fromGod of War’s place on the Epic Games Store. AlthoughGod of Warisn’texclusive to the Epic Games Store, Sony has been offered a ton of money for exclusivity on the PC storefront in the past.
Included with thePC release ofGod of Waris the free Buckler of the Forge Shield Skin, Death’s Vow Armor Sets for Kratos and Atreus, Dokkenshieldr Shield Skin, and Exile’s Guardian Shield Skin. PC gamers can also expect improved 4K performance, DLSS, raytracing, and 21:9 ultra-widescreen support. PC owners who want to emulate the PlayStation experience will also be able to use the Dualshock 4 or DualSense controllers while playingGod of War.
It’s currently unclear what PlayStation property will be the next to make the jump to PC, but it’s likely that PlayStation will keep an eye onGod of War’s sales on the Epic Games Store and Steam to gauge its popularity on PC. Some of the other PlayStation titles being sold on PC already includeDays Gone,Death Stranding, andHorizon Zero Dawn. It’s likely that the next PlayStation title to jump to PC will also come from the PS4 generation.
