Rockstar Games will be releasingGrand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Editionon Thursday, November 11, givingGTAfans the chance to relive the classic PS2-era games on modern consoles with revamped graphics and aGTA 5-style control scheme. Most new video game releases are made available at midnight EST the day of launch and are available earlier in some places due to time zones, but Rockstar Games is doing something a little different withGrand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition.

Once theGTA Trilogyrelease daterolls around on November 11, fans will have to wait until 7:00am PST/10:00am EST to actually play the collection, and this holds true regardless of what time zone one lives in. This means that those in Japan, Australia, and New Zealand will technically have to wait until November 12 to playGrand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, whereas those in most other regions will get to play on November 11.

It’s unclear exactly why Rockstar Games has decided to releaseGTA Trilogylike this, but the company has been keeping the collection relatively close to its chest. Besides aGTA Trilogytrailerthat it released to announce the collection, Rockstar has otherwise kept the collection underwraps, for whatever reason.

GTA Trilogy Release Times

While Rockstar itself has not shown much of the collection, even so close to its release date, there’s beenleakedGTA Trilogygameplay footagethat’s popped up online, giving fans a look atVice Cityin action. This leak has drummed up some complaints about theGTA Trilogycharacter models and the sound effects, but more of the collection will need to be shown before anyone can make a final verdict.

BesidesVice City,Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Editionalso includesGrand Theft Auto 3andGrand Theft Auto: San Andreas. All three of the games have a brand new art style, one that somewhat mimics the cartoon designs of the characters from the original box art and instruction manuals. A new control scheme has been implemented as well, though it remains to be seen how it all comes together.
