Eidos-Montreal announced today’s patch on theGuardians of the GalaxyTwitter account and uploaded the complete notes to Reddit. The most significant upgrades include improved performance on PlayStation 4 and an uncapped framerate option on Xbox Series S. Additionally,Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxynow supportsray tracing on the PS5and Series X. Players can enable ray tracing and uncapped framerate modes from the Graphics menu in-game. These upgrades guarantee the game will now look its best on the new generation of consoles. Players will also experience improvements to stability, objective markers, and world boundaries on all platforms.

The other big upgrade on all platforms is a new Save Rollback feature. Eidos-Montreal explains the system in detail in a separate post on theGuardians of the Galaxygame’s subreddit. It allows players to reset their Story, Perks, and Ability progress to the beginning of the Chapter instead of the last checkpoint. Unfortunately, the process is a little roundabout, requiring the player to exit to the main menu. From there, they’ll need to select the Chapter fromGuardians of The Galaxy’sReplay Chapter menu. Then, they need to go to the in-game menu and hold down the following buttons:

Players will then be able to save their game and pick a new save slot. This will be the new default save file upon returning to the main menu and selecting Continue. While a somewhat elaborate process, it allows players to restart a chapter without losing Item, Compendium, orAchievement/Trophy progress inGuardians of the Galaxy.

In addition to the above features, patches 1.05, 1.6, and 2.6 also come with an extensive list of bug fixes. Major fixes include removing a bug that prevented some ofGuardians of the Galaxy’sAchievements and Compendium entries from unlocking. Developers also repaired multiple glitches with the game’s menus and settings, along with a host of other issues.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxyis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
