Most Regions inHogwarts Legacyoffer five Merlin Trials for players to explore in their journey, but Marunweem Lake only possesses four. Each one can be found in a specific area near certain Floo Flames. It’s vital to complete Merlin Trials as it helps increase players’ Gear capacity.
Marunweem Lake is considered a mid-game area since it’s filled with tough enemies that can cause serious damage inHogwarts Legacy. Some Merlin Trials are surrounded by these enemies and players can’t proceed unless all the enemies are taken care of, which is why protagonists shouldn’t rush the exploration of this Region.

Marunweem Lake Merlin Trials In Hogwarts Legacy
Solving all Merlin Trials inHogwarts Legacyrequires a couple of spells that players can learn by completing certainProfessor’s Assignments inHogwarts Legacy. Additionally, Mallowsweet Leaves are the key to activating the Trials.
There are four Merlin Trials in this area, all in form of different puzzles:
Merlin Trial #1 - Firefly Puzzle
Teleport to Marunweem Ruins Floo Flame and keep climbing the slope to the south until an entrance appears. Enter the old building and climb the stairs to find the Merlin Trial.
Several fireflies will appear and players need to guide them usingLumosto theMoonstone pillars inHogwarts Legacy. There are three pillars in total and players can castRevelioto find them more quickly.
Merlin Trial #2 - Platform Bridge Puzzle
Fast travel to Marunweem Floo Flame and head west to find the Trial near the docks. Interact with it andthrow some Mallowsweet Leaves inHogwarts Legacyto activate the Trial.
To complete the second Merlin Trial,players need to jump on all the platforms without falling into the water. Once players reach the fifth platform,destroy the barrel in the water as there’s a hidden platform underneath. After that, jump to the final platform to finish the Merlin Trial.
Merlin Trial #3 - Stone Sphere Puzzle
Go to the Marunweem Lake waypoint to reach the third Merlin Trial. Upon arriving, get out of the house and summon a Broom or a mount inHogwarts Legacyand fly east.
To solve this Trial, players need to guide a sphere back to its place, but it’s locked behind a gate. It only opens bycastingDepulsoon the mechanism inHogwarts Legacy. Next, approach the sphere and use the same spell to push it out of the building.

Merlin Trial #4 - Stone Cube Puzzle
For the final Trial, fast travel to the Coastal Mine Floo Flame and fly southeast to find it near a Thestral Den.Flipendois essential for this puzzle, so make sure to equip it in the spell wheel.
First Cube Puzzle Solution
Run to the northern pillar andhit the top cube twice from this side. Then, hit thesecond symbol onceto match the upper and lower symbols.
Second Cube Puzzle Solution
Go to the marked symbol cube andcast Flipendo twice from this sideand thenonce on the secondone.
Third Cube Puzzle Solution
Climb the stairs to the south to reach the final pillar.To solve the puzzle inHogwarts Legacy, cast Flipendo on thefirst symbol onceand then alsoonce on the second top cube.
