After news thatHorizon: Zero Dawn’sPC release would have unique upgrades and features, players were clamoring to get themselves a pre-order. So many people have pre-ordered the 2017 PS4 exclusive that it rocketed the game into bestseller status.
Horizon: Zero Dawnis an action RPG that follows a woman named Aloy through a world ruled by giant machine dinosaurs. This stealthy action game made quite a splash in 2017 when it was originally released exclusively to PS4. With the next chapter in Aloy’s storyrecently announced, calledHorizon: Forbidden West, it’s not very surprising that those without a PS4 are looking to play the beautiful, critically-acclaimed first game.

With a release date of June 29, 2025,Horizon: Zero Dawnhas hit bestseller status on Steam. Although the game is still more than a month away, it nearlyinstantly sold better than most of the other games on Steam. It now shows higher thanRed Dead Redemption 2,Witcher 3, and evenDivinity 2.
The game is selling at $49.99, so pre-orders aren’t even spiking because of a great sale, although this price does include theFrozen WildsDLC, a digital artbook, and additional costumes. PC players seem to be excited to not only play the PS4 exclusive, but also to check out all those nice new features. These include ultra-wide screen functionality, improved foliage, 4K, and unlocked frame rates.
Hopefully, this means that PlayStation will be looking to put more of their exclusives on PC. There was a rumor going around in May that thenewestGod of Warmight get a PC portin the near future. If the sales numbers forHorizonare any indication, PC players are looking for beautiful single-player games with great stories, soGod of Warwould also probably be an instant bestseller as well.
While it would be nice to see the upgraded features on the PlayStation forHorizon: Zero Dawn. Perhaps ifZero Dawngets ported to the PlayStation 5 as well, PS players will get to experience some of the PC upgrades for themselves.
