The Fell Xenologue is the fourth and final wave of planned DLC forFire Emblem Engage. It sees protagonist Alear encountering bizarre alternate versions of their former allies and enemies, including heroic re-imagining of the villainous Four Hounds. While this new story may initially seem unconnected to previousFire Emblem EngageDLC, the Fell Xenologue is actually built upon a quest to recover the seven Emblem Bracelets that formed the first three waves of its Expansion Pass.

Originally,Fire Emblem Engagefeatured twelve Emblem Rings - one representing each main series title. However, theFire Emblem EngageDLC added seven more characters, including Hector fromFire Emblem: The Blazing Blade,Chrom fromFire Emblem Awakening, and even Veronica from mobile titleFire Emblem Heroes. Now, these Emblem Bracelets take center stage in a strange world where they are what Alear must acquire to help his friends.

Fell Xenologue Sees Emblem Bracelets Take Priority

In the trailer for Fell Xenologue, Alear teams up with new charactersNil and Nel, as well as alternate takes on the Four Hounds, to track down the seven Emblem Bracelets. Like the original 12 Rings, a majority of the Bracelets are held by the four nations of Elyos: Firene, Brodia, Elusia, and Solm. However, leaders such as Prince Alcryst of Brodia and Princess Timerra of Solm are now antagonistic forces, unwilling to give up their Bracelets.

Fans will have to play the newly-released Fell Xenologue to find out which realm holds which Bracelet, but the method of acquiring them seems to be different from the main game. After purchasing the DLC,Fire Emblem Engageplayers could earn the Bracelets in their normal playthrough by completing maps inspired by each character’s original game.Fell Xenologuewill strip the player of their Bracelets and force them to reacquire them by fighting the royal leaders of Elyos' four countries. At least some Emblem Rings can also be used, as Marth is shown in the DLC wave’s reveal trailer.

Tiki Plays a Larger Role in Fire Emblem Engage’s Fell Xenologue

One Emblem Bracelet and its associated character received particular focus in the trailer: Tiki, the young Divine Dragon who first appeared inFire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light.Emblem Tiki is shown glowing red, presumably corrupted by the Fell Dragon, but is still able to communicate with Alear and explain the situation regarding the other missing Bracelets. Tiki was one of the first DLC Emblems released, and could be claimed early alongside Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude fromFire Emblem: Three Houses. She also sharesAlear’s nature as a Divine Dragon, so it makes sense that she would have a particular connection withEngage’sprotagonist. Tiki may even be Alear’s primary Emblem partner during the DLC, as Marth is shown being used by Nil and Nel.

In addition to new characters like Nil, Nel, and the alternate versions of the Four Hounds,Engage’s Fell Xenologue DLCalso features new classes and possibly conversations between characters. It is unlikely thatFire Emblem Engagewill receive any DLC beyond this, as previous titles likeFire Emblem: Three Housesconcluded their run with new characters and stories. While some fans may be disappointed that their favoriteFire Emblemcharacters did not make it into the game, those who enjoy the Emblem Bracelet characters that did arrive will likely be happy to see them receive greater focus in the game’s latest story arc.
