Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroeshas just released its PC build in Early Access, which means the game might draw the attention of gamers who never got around to playing the game on mobile. It’s quite a deep game with a gigantic cast of characters with which to assemble teams, and the game has only grown in complexity over the years. With this in mind, Capital Games knew it needed to refine the new player experience.
Game Rant was given an early look at the PC build and producers Caley and Chelsea also spoke to us about how theStar Warsgame has improved its onboarding process. New players will benefit from drastically faster leveling, a better selection of free characters, and easier access to game modes like guild raids.

Leveling in Galaxy of Heroes No Longer Takes Months
Like most gacha games,Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroesis best approached as a marathon rather than a sprint, but its leveling process was still a bit lengthier than it probably needed to be. Players would spend several months to a year simply reaching level 85, which is arguably where the game finally begins. To rectify this and bring new players into the game’s core content, the leveling process has been massively sped up to only take a few weeks. Caley says that this is particularly timely as new playerscheck out the PC release,
We’ve updated our early player quest rewards and XP. It used to take about a year for our players to reach 85. And now, with this new player experience, you’re able to get there in a month. New quests deliver more free characters, more ships, more XP, and more rewards to accelerate your journey to level 85….It was our goal to make sure that players who hit level 85 had a solid collection of teams and fleets so they’re ready to engage in our biggest modes like Grand Arena Championship, Territory Battles and raids, and that players should be able to join a guild and contribute meaningfully as soon as they hit level 85.
The rate of leveling wasn’t the only thing that was improved for new players, however. The amount and variety of free characters and ships awarded throughout the leveling process has been greatly improved, and players who hit level 85 should be much better equipped to take on the various modes. Particularly noteworthy is how the entireGhost crew fromStar Wars Rebelsis given for free, along with the Ghost and the Phantom. This is a very handy early-game team with plenty of synergy and some solid mileage in fleet battles.
Raids Are More Accessible For Newer Galaxy of Heroes Players
Caley pointed out that another change meant to make the content a bit more accessible for players in the early game was the introduction of difficulty modifiers forGalaxy of Heroes' raids. The base difficulty level merely requires players toassemble a suitable teamof five-star characters, which is a relatively low entry barrier. Higher difficulty modifiers have more stringent requirements but also award substantially more points, so there’s still an incentive to bring along a relic-equipped squad.
Instead of one big raid every few years, we’re now much more frequently introducing smaller bite-sized rates so that you can dive into those experiences quicker. We’ve added a difficulty modifier system which means that these raids are now for everyone. You can come in there as a new player and experiences raids at a lower difficulty level, or if you have a high level 10 million galactic power account, you can go in there and be challenged on power level nine and really get an awesome experience and use your whole collection to earn the most points possible.
Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroesis still a deceptively complex game with hundreds oficonicStar Warscharactersto choose from, so it’s still going to take new players quite some time to learn the game’s ins and outs. Hopefully, with easier access to worthwhile teams and faster leveling, players can navigate this learning curve with a little less hassle.
