Fortnite’s challenges are usually pretty straight forward, but sometimes they require a couple extra steps that the game doesn’t really tell the player. For example, one ofthis week’s challenges, Escape a vault using a secret passage, requires some out of the box thinking to complete.
At first glance, thisFortnitechallenge seems simple. Simply find a vault, clear it out, and then escape using some sort of secret passage, but each of those three steps can prove to be more difficult than they first appear. With the week almost over and part unlocking next week, it’s best to knock this out now.

Fortnite: Find a Vault
The five vault locations with secret passages in the followingspy bases: the Agency, Grotto, Rig, Shark, and Yacht. From one of these places, the next step is to defeat the boss of the area. The five bosses in question are Midas, Brutus, TnTina, Skye, and Meowscles respectively, but only one has to be beaten to get this challenge. Simply shake down a henchman to learn the location of a boss and defeat them to claim the key card.
Fortnite: Clear a Vault
After finding the vault, the player will need to clear it out of any enemies or sentry guns. This task may prove somewhat difficult, as thesentry guns in particular can do quite a bit of damageshould they catch the player off guard without cover. That said, these can be bypassed should the player find another route to the vault.
Fortnite: Secret Passages in Vaults
Once inside the vault, be sure to grab all that sweet, sweet loot before trying to make an escape. Somewhat surprisingly, the secret passage out of these vaults happens to be the port-a-potty or phone booth located in the corner of the room. The player need simply press square to hide inside either to escape using the secret passage. This should deposit the player somewhere nearby the spy base and also complete the challenge.
Some fans may have expected this little twist, as this isn’t the first timeFortniterequires players to hide in phone booths or port-a-potties, as the Deadpool challenges had a similar requirement. Still, players would be forgiven for not finding these secret passages, especially if they happened to stumble into a vault that had a port-a-potty secret passage. Doing this should complete the challenge and get players ready for the next set of challenges.
