Defeating the priest will enable Tavs the opportunity to loot his corpse and his lab, if they choose to defeat him inthe Gauntlet of Shar. Among the loot, players can find potions, scrolls, the Soul Cage Research book, and theCircle of Boneshat. However, if you chose to push Balthazar during the Nightsong rescue mission, you would be unable to loot him. Players can encounter the priest in two different locations during Act 2, before and after entering the Shadowfell in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Balthazar Location
It is recommended to start searching for the boss after the teamlevel is 7 inBaldur’s Gate 3. After successfully completing theUmbral puzzleat the Thorm Mausoleum location by climbing the stairs on the west side and moving on, there will be a room full of Balthazar’s servants. Defeating them will open up access to Balthazar’s lab, which is located in the bottom-left corner of the Gauntlet of Shar.
