ThePokemondiorama was created by danielnazareth on Reddit, and the results are arguably spectacular. The diorama recreates the iconicopening scene fromPokemon Redof a Gengar facing down a Nidorino. The animation in the original game was fairly limited, with the sprites mostly bouncing around before cutting to the title screen. However, the diorama is able to take full advantage of three-dimensional space, with the Gengar and Nidorino rotating through the fight, making it look more reminiscent of modern-dayPokemongame battles.
Pokemonfans have been outspoken in their praise of the diorama. One suggested adding a music box to the base to play an appropriate battle theme as it rotates. Many also asked about buying it, or whether the creator would be willing to make more. Since danielnazareth made it with a 3D resin printer, making more is a possibility, and they have noted that they’ve considered opening a shop to sell them. However, at this time, this one-of-a-kind creation isn’t available for purchase, so fans will just have to settle for admiring the video demonstration.
