Intel has been trying to keep details about its upcoming Raptor Lake Refresh lineup of processors away from the public eye, but the latest leaks claim to share the clock speeds for the ‘non-K’ SKUs. It suggests all the ‘non-K’ SKUs in the Intel 14th gen series will have 200MHz higher boost speeds, except for the rumored Core i5-14400 model. For its next iteration of CPUs, Intel was expected to launch Meteor Lake chips as its 14th-generation CPUs. However, the company threw a curveball andtweaked the launch, giving desktop users a Raptor Lake Refresh instead of a complete generational jump. There have been a few leaks about the Raptor Lake Refresh in the form of internal benchmarks that show only a minor performance jump from Raptor Lake.

Now, a known tipster hasshared on Twitterthat all but one ‘non-K’ SKU in the 14th-gen lineup will have a 200MHz higher boost clock compared to their 13th-gen counterparts. The Core i9-14900/F, which is expected to have an 8-performance core + 16-efficiency core configuration, can reportedly boost up to 5.8GHz. Similarly, the Core i7-14700/F (an 8-performance core + 12-efficiency core configuration) is said to reach up to 5.4GHz, and so on. For some reason, the Core i5-14400/F (a 6+4 configuration) does not get the same treatment, though it is said to boost up to 4.7GHz, a 100MHz jump from the Core i5-13400.
This latest leak also reasserts that the baseline Core i3-14100/F processor will stick with just four performance cores, but it will boost 200MHz higher than the Core i3-13100.
The slight increase in clock speeds explains the minor performance improvement over Raptor Lake. Earlier this month, Igor’s Labshared internal benchmarksfor the upcoming Raptor Lake Refresh series, which showed only a 1-4% boost in performance. The comparisons showed synthetic benchmark numbers for the Core i9-13900K, presumably put against the Core i9-14900K, as the report mentions the CPU had an 8-performance and 16-efficiency core configuration, much like its predecessor.

The Intel Core i9 is Intel’s 13th generation Raptor Lake flagship processor. It promises exceptional gaming performance in addition to excellent benchmark results for a wide slew of tasks. The 24-core, 32-thread processor tends to handle these with ease while offering PCI-E 4.0/5.0 compatibility with the 700 series motherboards it works with in addition to working with 12th generation motherboards which share the same socket.
This comes as more disappointing news for Intel fans who were waiting for a trulynew generation of CPUs. Raptor Lake Refresh is expected to be unveiled in October, and arecent leak from ITHomereaffirms the timeline. A Chinese PC maker hinted at a new gaming desktop with “a new generation of Intel Core processors and RTX 40 series graphics cards" that it will launch in October. An exact date is unknown for now. It should be noted that Intel has not shared any timeline for Raptor Lake Refresh, so take this piece of information with a pinch of salt.
