Mass Effect Legendary Editionis one of 2021’s most anticipated remakes. With the first installment in the trilogy having released nearly 15 years ago,Mass Effectis dated, but that leaves room for many upgrades. However, releasing games for the newest generation of consoles, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, would allow for the biggest enhancements. But whether or notMass Effect Legendary Editionis coming to the next generation isn’t a straightforward answer.

ThoughMass Effect Legendary Editionis a remaster and not a remake, there’s quite a lot of changes players can expect that should improve the space opera from the original trilogy. In general,Mass Effect 1will look a lot betterwith reworked textures and stunning frame rates, bringing it up to modern standards. But as a whole, BioWare plans to unify the look of the trilogy, streamlining the games into a consistent experience. This will also improve switching between games, as the consistency should lessen the jarring experience of drastically different graphics betweenMass Effect 1and3.
