Justin Roiland was dropped fromHulu’sSolar OppositesandKoala Man. Hulu announced they were cutting ties with Roiland the day after he was dropped fromRick and Mortydue to the domestic violence charge against him.

Roiland co-createdSolar Oppositeswith Mike McMahan. He also provided the voice for characters like Korvo and served as an executive producer. Though he did not create Koala Man, he was an executive producer and guest star. However, Hulu announced the end of its partnership with Roiland in a statement stating, “We have ended our association with Justin Roiland.” Disney-owned 20th Television Animation,which producesSolar OppositesandKoala Man, is also dropping Roiland and his overall deal at the company.
LikeRick and Mortyat Adult Swim,Solar OppositesandKoala Manwill continue without Roiland’s involvement in the writer’s room or the recording booth. Roiland was “charged with one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit.” The charges stem from a January 202 incident involving an unnamed woman Roiland was dating. Roiland has pled not guilty to the charges and is scheduled to return to court in April for another hearing.
There were questions about whatRoiland’s legal troubles meant forRicky and Morty, and now fans know the answer. While the fate ofRick and Morty,Solar Opposites, andKoala Manshould be the least of everyone’s concerns in a case as serious as Roiland’s, fans are understandably relievedSolar Opposites,Koala Man, andRick and Mortycan continue without him.
Still, others will find it difficult to continue watching the shows after the revelations about Roiland. This is respectable, but with Hulu opting to drop Roiland and continueSolar Opposites andKoala Man, it’s a choice every fan can make for themselves.
