Games find a variety of ways to reward players for all their hard work. Posting their name and points at the top of a scoreboard, filling their inventories with valuable resources, and granting unique cosmetics are some of the most popular rewards for hitting max level or completing a similarly epic feat.Killing Floor 2uses a prestige system.

Some players want something to show for their many hours of strategizing, fighting, and grinding levels. Others are completionists who won’t rest until they’ve achieved 100% in the game. The prestige system inKilling Floor 2provides no unfair advantage over players who haven’t Prestiged; it simply rewards veterans with cosmetics to bask in the glory of all their hard work. Here’s everything players need to know about how to prestige.
What Prestige Does
The Prestige system was added to the game with the Treacherous Skies update, and each of the subsequent major updates have added additional Prestige ranks. InKilling Floor 2,a Perk is eligible to Prestigeafter it reaches level 25. When the player Prestiges a Perk, that Perk’s level is reset to 0.This means the player gives up all Skills and Bonuses associated with that Perk until they level it up again.
As a reward for Prestiging, the player is granted a unique skin forthe selected weapon,a modified Perk icon, and 2,000,000 Vosh (an in-game currency that can be spent on cosmetic-containing Vault Crates).

Because the player is sacrificing the Perk’s Skills and Bonuses, choosing to Prestige is a weighty choice, since it means the player will be without the advantages they are used to, at least for a while. Fortunately, the player receives an XP boost after the Prestige, sogetting the Perk back to its previous level won’t be as painful the next time around.
Achievement-hunting players should know that Prestiging Perks isn’t a requirement for any Achievements, so completionists can ignore the Prestige system altogether unless they’re trying to get every cosmeticfor their favorite class.Players who want to give themselves an additional challenge can Prestige multiple times.

How To Prestige
To Prestige a Perk, go to the “Perk” section of the main menu and thenselect the desired Perk.If the Perk is level 25, the player will be able to click the “Prestige” button underneath the Perk’s name. The player will then be asked to confirm their choice. Confirming will Prestige the Perk, granting the player their reward:Vosh, a unique icon, and a unique cosmetic.
Prestiging Faster
Hitting Prestige can take some time, especially if the player intends to do it more than once, so it’s worth knowing how to Prestige faster. The simplest option is upping the difficulty,as harder difficulties grant more XP. Of course, it also makes the enemy far more dangerous, so players should only grapple with the higher difficulties if they’re ready (or have some more experienced friends to carry them). Playing Endless on Hell on Earth difficulty can be a great way to rack up XP fast, if players are up to the challenge and don’t mind grinding waves for a while.

Playing on double XP weekends is also a good shortcut to make up for the level losses caused by Prestiging, which canhelp the player out when playing solo. There’s no going back once the player has decided to Prestige, but for those that have committed to the grind, they’ll at least have some fancy cosmetics to show for it.
Killing Floor 2is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Linux, and Microsoft Windows.
