Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealthcan be overwhelming at the start, due to the many RPG elements that players will need to get used to. Thankfully, the game’s elaborate tutorial lays out the basic foundations that will play a huge role later on. One department in which the game may not hold the player’s hand, though, is when it comes to knowing which items to stock up on and overcoming the many challenges in the early chapters of the game.
The entries below give an overview of some of the most useful early-game items that will help players find their footing in this RPG adventure. The items highlighted will focus on regenerative qualities as well as boosting combat and non-combat-related stats. Since only a limited number of item types can be stocked, multiple early-game item options are covered.

Mana Points(MP) are the most important meter to manage in the game, since they areused to perform any abilities in combat, apart from standard attacks. Therefore, MP will constantly deplete in battles. Unlike Health Points, Mana can scarcely be regenerated through spells. The only reliable way to replenish MP is by stocking up on certain Mana drinks. Many Mana potions can replenish a good chunk of MP, likeHop Lei IPAorAloha Blond beer, which players can obtain from grocery stores. However, they will also raiseDrunkenness. Players should restrict their Drunkenness, since high levels lead to unpredictable consequences in battle.
Keeping this constraint in mind, the best alcohol-free drinks that replenish MP are fresh juices likeCoconut WaterandLemonadeatAloha Beach Juicery, located in the East Aloha Beach area. These drinks cost no more than $2.00 and up to 30 units of each drink can be purchased at once, making them ideal to use outside of combat when MP is low. At Aloha Beach Juicery, players can also craftComplimentary Tea,which regenerates 100 MP and removes all status ailments. Making this tea is easy since it has easy-to-acquire ingredients:Natural HerbandSuperior Herb, which are obtained simply from grassy areas like parks throughout the game.
Other viable items to stock for MP regeneration include Coffee and Latte, which can be purchased fromMorning Joe’sorMocha Mahalo, both inEast Waikiki.

However, since Mana is not easy to replenish, players should only use those spells for dire situations while in battle. Outside of combat, health regeneration items may be used to conserve MP. Such items include theTuna Salad Sandwichat Morning Joe’s,and theRoast Beef SandwichatMocha Mahalo. Both of these cost $4.00 and replenish up to 130 HP.
The best option is also the cheapest, withFrench FriesatKevin’s Hot Dogsin East Waikiki only setting the player back under $3.00 and recovering 100 HP. Similarly, theHot Dogshere also give players a bang for their buck with up to 150 HP Regeneration.

Some of the early-game battles, especially those against the boss enemies and hordes in the dungeons, may get challenging. In such cases, it is viable to pop open an energy drink for a temporary stats boost toIchiban’s or his party’sattrributes. Since these items are somewhat powerful, players can only stock up to five of each type. TheApple DefenseandPoseidon Powerdrinks will temporarily increase the attributes of Defense and Willpower, and Attack and Magic, respectively.
For these drinks, head to theHonu World MarketandPigeon Family Marketlocated inWest Waikiki. Although other power drinks likeGuardian WaterandMuscle Sodaalso increase attributes temporarily, the higher cost does not justify their use, especially in early-game situations where certain character skills are sufficient to help the player progress.

In the early chapters of the game, players may resort to using standard attacks to get through the battles as they earn more Job EXP. However, as the intensity of encounters and enemy difficulty increases, players will need to acquirenew skills for their Job.
In addition to naturally getting Job EXP from battles, players can expedite the process by grabbing free magazines from the various stands located across Honolulu. Such stands can be found outsidePigeon Family Market, Honu World Market, andMakani Coffee. Using these will instantly grant +50 points to the player’s current job for any member of the party that they may choose to apply the effect on.
