Ludwig’s YouTube ban came shortly after the content creator was also briefly banned from Instagram. Ludwig was apparently part of the live audience watching theLogan Paul vs. Floyd Mayweather boxing match, and afterwords he posed for a photo with Twitch streamer Slime. Although the photo didn’t contain any outright nudity, it did feature a suggestive pose between the two streamers and a joke about Joe Rogan that seemed to upset Instagram enough for the ban. However, the reason Ludwig was banned from YouTube seems to be a bit more complicated.

Ludwig received a notice that he was banned fromYouTubefor an entire week the night of June 14, and that the offending video was flagged for “child safety” reasons. This would have effectively ended his 619 video upload streak on YouTube, which started on July 29, 2025. The video in question is a challenge video titled “If I Laugh I Lose $1,000.” Ludwig already had a challenge video on his channel flagged for “violent or graphic content” that he never appealed, so the second flag for his latest video signaled a week-long ban.

During the five hours that Ludwig was banned, #freeludwig started trending on Twitter and eventually made it to the number three spot on the trending page. The reaction toLudwig’s YouTube baneven garnered a response from YouTube itself, who sent a message to Ludwig ensuring him the YouTube team was further analyzing his video and would keep him updated. Following this, YouTube sent Ludwig another message at 3:20 a.m. yesterday informing him that his video had been reinstated with age restriction and he could upload YouTube videos once again.

As for what exactly in the video got him banned, there is speculation that it was because of a clip he reacted to showingNFL quarterback Tom Bradytalking to his son. Although it’s not shown in Ludwig’s video, the clip supposedly shows Tom Brady kissing his son on the mouth. Other speculation is that YouTube investigated his video because he talked about one of his moderators being 14 years old and commented, “is this child labor?” While there is no confirmation from YouTube yet that either of these is the exact reason, at least Ludwig can continue his YouTube upload streak, which is now at 620.
